Ryan Dempster To The Restricted List; Leonys Martin Recalled

Per the beat guys on Twitter. Evan Grant unironically points out that Dempster, despite being a Canadian native, may have been blocked from entry into his home country due to a passport issue, and that would neatly conform with the word from the team that Dempster will rejoin the team on Monday, when the Rangers return on Texas.

Leonys Martin, who has been absolutely tearing the cover off the ball of late (.400/.463/.767 in 60 PA in August) will again rejoin the club, and perhaps be rewarded with a start over the weekend, although it remains to be seen whether Wash and company will go in that direction.

Dempster had been scheduled to start on Saturday, so Roy Oswalt will grab the spot start on Saturday and then presumably move back to the bullpen ... Dempster has been pretty awful in two of his three starts, though, and you do wonder just a little bit about where the line of demarcation is as far as just how bad Dempster would have to be for how long in order to seriously endanger his rotation spot.
