This (somewhat) understandably got lost in last night's four-homer excitement:
The Orioles swung and missed at 15 of Neftali Feliz's fastballs, the most by any team against a pitcher in a game this season.— ESPN Stats & Info (@ESPNStatsInfo) May 9, 2012
According to the data I have available to me (also through ESPN S&I), Feliz's overall swinging-strike rate this season on the fastball (swinging strikes on fastballs / all fastballs thrown) this season is 10.7 percent. That's the third-best mark out of 114 qualifying pitchers, and has, to this point, been bested by only the Cardinals' Lance Lynn (12.3 percent) and the Rays' Matt Moore (12.0 percent).
Pitching prosperity of this magnitude doesn't last forever. Soak it up while you can.
