The DMN's Top Sports Headlines For Wednesday, April 25th

MJH has been kind enough to drop a copy of the DMN's top headlines from their website's SportsDay section into my inbox on a few separate occasions this month, and until now I haven't been compelled to take MJH's observation to the masses and point out just how truly absurd this is -- impending NFL draft or not.

First, let's go ahead and take a look at the Startlegram's home page for comparative purposes:

And now, the DMN's home page, where a lone mention of Darvish and a link to Evan's game story is tucked away in the bottom left-hand corner:

And, finally, for good measure, the DMN SportsDay page, which features not a single mention of the Rangers or Darvish or, for that matter, baseball in general:

This is appalling. Even if you're not an Evan Grant fan, this is appalling. Nobody on that baseball beat deserves this. You have one of the single greatest regular-season efforts from a Rangers starting pitcher against the Yankees in franchise history, from a guy who crashed the needle from the hype meter through its protective glass over this past winter, during a series that may very well set a new all-time ratings record for Rangers baseball ... and you're giving Too Tall Jones' Cowboys thoughts precedence over that?

Maybe I'm full of crap. Maybe the SportsDay editors and the DMN suits know exactly what they're doing and know exactly what the people want, and believe that the only thing the people want is COWBOYS. But I'm not sure I'm ready to give them that much credit for staying ahead of the curve.
