Heyman: Rangers Are Looking For A "Righty-Hitting Outfielder"
I don't need to embed the tweet, I guess, because I kind of already explained what it said in the title.
The default option that tends to linger in the backs of our minds is Marlon Byrd, but as much as our overwhelming sense of nostalgia might want to see him back here, the reality is that he's penciled in as the Cubs' Opening Day starting center fielder, and is making $6.5 million in 2012 (keep in mind that the Rangers have already reached or exceeded their Opening Day payroll target, and doesn't look like somebody that would add enough on-field value above and beyond what the Rangers already have to justify his cost in dollars/prospects.
