Rangers Elias Rankings Update

Per Tim Dierkes of MLB Trade Rumors (via Eddie Bajek, who reverse-engineered the Elias rankings in conjunction with ESPN.com's Keith Law), here is where the Rangers' free agent-eligible players currently rank:

RHP Joaquin Benoit: 26.449 (unranked)
LHP Eddie Guardado: 48.732 (unranked)
1B/DH Hank Blalock: 42.500 (unranked)
OF Marlon Byrd: 72.174 (Type B)
OF Andruw Jones: 24.348 (unranked)
C Ivan Rodriguez: 67.411 (Type B)
IF Omar Vizquel: 38.642 (unranked)

Will be interesting to see how the Rangers elect to handle Pudge, since he's surprisingly not all that far away from attaining Type A status (which would probably hurt the Rangers in terms of acquiring compensation picks if they were to let him walk, similar to the Juan Cruz fiasco that developed this past winter when teams didn't want to give up first- or second-rounders in exchange for a non-elite reliever) and would be guaranteed to net Texas a supplemental-round pick. Would that outweigh the P.R. boost and the smidgen of added security against the possibility of the young three-headed catching monster continuing to backslide? Tough to say, but if you had a gun to my head, I would speculate that we'll see Pudge back in 2010.
