All-Star Update: Ian Kinsler Out?

So, Josh Hamilton is a virtual lock to make the American League's All-Star starting lineup (even though he certainly doesn't deserve the nod based on performance alone, but then this is the sort of thing that happens when you allow the fans to vote on a game "that counts," so you won't find any modicum of sympathy for MLB here), and Kevin Millwood might have an outside shot at making the club as the last starting pitcher, but Ian Kinsler's first-place standing at second base appears to be evaporating:

Will Ian Kinsler hold off Dustin Pedroia at second base?

As of the last AL update on Tuesday, Kinsler held a lead of fewer than 7,000 votes, but over the past 72 hours of exclusive online balloting, Pedroia has received 20 percent more votes than Kinsler.

You'd kinda have to figure that the so-dubbed Red Sox Nation would be able to overcome that 7,000-vote margin rather easily, particularly with the knowledge in hand that Pedroia has enjoyed a 20 percent edge over the last 72 hours -- should that margin hold up, Pedroia will have little trouble in claiming the starting spot, and given that Ben Zobrist and Aaron Hill are also viable All-Star candidates, I would submit that it's not a 100 percent lock that Kinsler makes the team at all (although it's certainly still probable at this point).
