Wednesday Afternoon Open Thread: Four Questions
Mike Olt -- Photo courtesy of Scott Lucas1. With Roy Oswalt being about two weeks away from being ready to go in the Rangers' rotation, are you sticking with Scott Feldman ("Everyone has bad games," Feldman said. "I'm hoping I can get the ball again and try to right the ship.") or pulling the plug immediately?
2. We're all aware of the perils of making snap judgments on draft classes (particularly since it takes years to properly evaluate a draft class), but what is your general gut feeling on the Rangers' 2012 draft class to this point -- specifically, the Brinson/Gallo/Wiles triumvirate at the top?
3. With Frisco third baseman Mike Olt blistering Double-A pitching and shortstop Jurickson Profar quite possibly being ready to go at some point in 2013, how do you foresee the approaching infield logjam playing out? Bear in mind that you've got an excellent starting infield in place already between Adrian Beltre (controlled through 2015-16), Ian Kinsler (controlled through 2017-18), and Elvis Andrus (controlled through 2014), and that moving either Olt or Profar from their native positions would diminish their value to the Rangers.
4. You have the capability to briefly possess either of Jon Daniels or Ron Washington, meaning that you have just enough time to either complete a single transaction that helps the Rangers (say, a trade/demotion/promotion), or make one change in the realm of strategy/roles (say, changing the Rangers' sac-bunting strategy, or making a lineup/rotation change). Knowing that you can only make one change, what is that change going to be?
