Sunday Evening Open Thread: Four Questions

Is Adrian Beltre's elite defense enough on its own to earn him All-Star honors? Probably not!1. As of today, which Rangers players do you regard as deserving of All-Star selections? Use this as a handy reference guide if you want, but be wary of using raw wins above replacement totals, as defensive ratings at the halfway mark are rife with uncertainty and aren't given as much weight as offensive statistics in the All-Star selection process.

2. Assuming no trades and fully restored health by, say, July 15th, what is the best possible 12-man pitching staff the Rangers can run out on the field during the lead-up to the trade deadline?

3. Let's revisit this multiple-choice question from last October: Pretend that you could sign one and only one of C.J. Wilson (five years, $90 million; all free agency years), Josh Hamilton (four years, $75 million; buys out three free agency years), or Nelson Cruz (four years, $40 million; buys out two free agency years) to a long-term deal right now, with the signee's 2011 salary remaining the same and their new extension being tacked on. Whoever you pick is guaranteed to accept, but the other two will be subject to the same normal arbitration/FA process and could end up walking when their time comes. Which player are you going to sign?

4. It's been almost a month since John Rhadigan was fired/demoted/launched into the sun and the Rangers reshuffled their broadcasting lineups. Based on what you've heard since on the television and/or radio sides, are you down with sticking with Dave Barnett and Steve Busby (along with Bryan Dolgin) beyond the 2011 season, or should the Rangers' search for trademark voices or more locally known characters take them elsewhere?
