Wednesday Morning Rangers Notes: Insert Yu Darvish Pun Here

A few quick things out there this morning:

● The Rangers purportedly triumphed over the Blue Jays in the sealed auction for Yu Darvish's negotiating rights by a margin of less than $2 million; on a mostly -- but not completely unrelated note, it's now beginning to appear that the Rangers' 20-year TV deal with FOX Sports Southwest may actually prove to be worth $3 billion depending on whether certain contractual escalators kick in, and it's also beginning to appear that the Angels may end up banking less from their own newly minted TV deal than that previously reported $150 million annual payoff, which could mean that the Rangers' post-2014 TV deal proves more lucrative on an annual basis than that of the Angels (various sources)

● Following up on a previous vague report about the Rangers being "optimistic" as far as their chances of re-signing Mike Napoli, Richard Durrett now reports that the Rangers have engaged Napoli's representatives several times about a potential long-term contract extension, and FOXSports.com's Jon Paul Morosi remarks that there is a "very good chance" that Napoli will be signed to a long-term deal by Opening Day (ESPNDallas.com; Twitter)

● FOXSports.com's Ken Rosenthal suggests that the Rangers could be the first major league team in recent memory to roll with a six-man rotation out of spring training, with his thought process being that keeping Yu Darvish -- assuming he is signed, that is -- on five days' rest might behoove him given that he never pitched regularly on four days' rest in Japan, and that the rest of the Rangers' rotation candidates might benefit from a reduced workload after two consecutive trips to the World Series; however, one Rangers official remarked that he "doubted" the Rangers would go to war with their troops deployed in such a manner (Yardbarker
