Joey, hook me up with a link.

Richard Durret is reporting MLB has suspended AJ Burnett 6 gamkes for throwing at Cruz, and fined Padilla for throwing at Teix.

Richard says he's surprised by the suspension, but I'm not.

Listen to the Fan for some kicks - they've got John Blake doing play by play this inning (Nadel out w/ surgery), and let me just say that there's a reason why Blake doesn't do radio. His radio voice is AWFUL.

It really makes one appreciate how effortless guys like Nadel paint a picture of what's happening with just words.

I didnt get to hear Sundberg before i had to get out of the car, but Barnett had the best voice on there from what i heard......

Should have gotten Busby to do this game.

*crack of bat*
And this one is hit
...
foul and....
... out of play

Was in the car coming home -- I have no idea who that was alongside Barnett during the early innings. Sunny?

I was also going to call attention to how odd it was that Texas was playing for one run in the SECOND INNING, but Texas is clicking along just fine at the moment regardless...

Rangers touch Wang 5 times before being pulled.

June 4, 2009 at 1:32 PM | Unregistered Commenterred3biggs

And McCarthy gets pulled in the 5th w/ no one out. Jennings gives up another run before getting 2 outs. *sigh*

June 4, 2009 at 1:53 PM | Unregistered Commenterred3biggs

Epic meltdown by McCarthy. Ouch.

I'm ready to get the hell out of NY. I hate that team with their 200+ million payroll. It's like trying to pitch to an All-Star team for 3 straight nights.

Whew. Much needed nap over with. What did I miss?

Question time:

What does it say about the Rangers if we win this game and tie up the record V NYY 3-3?

What does it say about the Rangers if we lose this game going 2-4?

3) What is it that is so boring about Rangers baseball that it puts Joey to sleep everytime?

June 4, 2009 at 2:45 PM | Unregistered Commenterred3biggs

CJ reverts a little by giving up a HR.

Rangers down by 2 and will have to beat Rivera to win the game now.

June 4, 2009 at 2:51 PM | Unregistered Commenterred3biggs

My answers:

1) This team is for real, AND shows that it can beat a really good offensive team
2) This team is for real, will contend for a playoff spot, but probably still gets knocked out of the 1st round
3) Joey hates the Rangers..... its the only explanation i can think of.

I really think this team is fundamentally sound (except for the Ks) and built to be competitive. I think that they're just up against what amounts to an all-star lineup (Jeter, Damon, Tex, ARoid, Cano, Matsui, Swisher, and so on), and the Yanks have gotten into their minds a bit, I'm afraid. The bad economy kind of served as a natural salary cap for most teams this past off season. Yankees - not so much. I think as the year progresses, unless they have serious injuries - they're going to start putting some distance between themselves & everyone else save maybe Boston.

Glad to be getting the hell out of there.

This is why I don't think fans should sweat it this year - let them learn & grow and don't push for any big changes. Even if Texas wins the crappy West, they are dead meat against Boston or NY.

That's my 2 cents.

1) and 2) -- Not sure it says a whole lot either way...they've showed that they can hang with New York to some extent, but assuming this score holds up, they will still have been outscored by a 45-23 margin through those six games, and that's without even having to face CC Sabathia (which I consider pretty disconcerting)...

3) -- Not sure. Glad I missed the five-run inning though.

By the way, thanks for the text on AJ -- hadn't seen that when you texted me.

Which Hank do we get, Hero or Goat?

Goat is my vote

June 4, 2009 at 3:01 PM | Unregistered Commenterred3biggs

Hank pulls through with a single, Young to 3rd.

Cruz up w/ 1 out.

June 4, 2009 at 3:04 PM | Unregistered Commenterred3biggs

Cruz K's for the 2nd out. Game no in the hands of D Murphy.

Does Texas get another hero right here?

June 4, 2009 at 3:06 PM | Unregistered Commenterred3biggs

I was at Yankee Stadium today wearing a red Kinsler jersey...I hate the Yankees so much.

Jake,

How did the fans treat you during the game?
