Pre-Game Notes: Right-hander Kris Benson (right elbow tendinitis) completed a bullpen session earlier today without experiencing any setbacks, and is scheduled to make a rehab start for Double-A Frisco on Sunday ... Outfielder Josh Hamilton (strained left intercostal muscle) is reportedly feeling better and was scheduled to meet with team physician Dr. Keith Meister again today; manager Ron Washington hopes Hamilton will be able to swing a bat by tomorrow and perhaps be available to play this weekend.

Minor League Games: More to follow.

Alright, I'm about to hit the road ... Teaser Alert: Kevin Goldstein Q&A coming tomorrow from Professor Parks, and uh something from me (what exactly that will be I'm not sure yet)...

Also, behold the hypocrisy of Jean-Jacques Taylor:

Admit it, you think it was a mistake to promote Derek Holland to the big leagues after one start in Triple-A.

A huge mistake. A mistake of David Clyde proportions. Or for those of you under 30, a mistake of Edinson Volquez proportions.

This franchise doesn't deserve your benefit of the doubt when it comes to handling young pitchers. You figured it was the same old Rangers screwing up yet another talented pitching prospect.

It's not.

But, twelve days ago...

The Rangers aren't supposed to compete for the division title this year, so why in the world are they promoting Derek Holland after one start in triple-A.

It's because they're panicking.

Why, I don't know.

The Rangers told us they wanted to see Holland and Neftali Feliz have success at the triple-A level before they promoted them to the big leagues. They wanted them to ahve success at every level of the minor leagues before giving them an opportunity to get outs at the big league level.

Now, they've tossed that plan.

This team doesn't appear to know how to make it be "their day". Disappointing game once again...

Hopefully Benson can get back on track from his injury and keep on dominating. Kinsler got robbed today but Jones had a nice shot.
