Impressive solo homer from Mike Young in the bottom of the first (a line-drive missile to the berm in right field), as well as a couple of nice singles from CD and Teagarden here in the second inning...

And Elvis atones for a first-inning error that contributed to that three-run shot off Millwood with an RBI double down the left field line, slashing the deficit to 3-2...

Nice job by Mike Young on a bad-hop grounder to help out Millwood...quite a few of his pitches seem to have been hit pretty hard thus far tonight...

So three errors last night, 2 errors tonight...The Rangers look like they are rounding into regular season form

Man, Davis has a great opposite field stroke. If he can get power like that to left - holy crap.

Dish Network is blacking out this game, at least that's so on my system. Makes no sense!

This has not been the Rangers' greatest game.

Well, Omar Vizquel leads off the bottom of the ninth with a nice sharp single through the middle...

...which Joaquin Arias responds to by watching strike three...

And with a Travis Metcalf hit just over shortstop, we'll get the opportunity to see Engel Beltre...

Yea, mine is blacked out also.
Can yall get some info on how holland did in his minor start today?

Beltre flies out, and the game hinges on Andruw Jones...

Really cool seeing Beltre. Even though he missed a homer - just under the ball - it was great seeing him smile about it in the dugout afterwards. He looked like he totally appreciated just being there.

Some observations:

Turnbow - throws hard, but looked like he had no control over his fastball.

Jones - I'm hoping he doesn't make the team - I don't see anything special there.

Elvis is going to make some errors, but he also looks really comfortable, and the range he displays v. MY is phenomenal.

Millwood got some K's, but wasn't dominating when he needed to be. I think the best we can hope for there is league average ERA and WHIP and some endurance (200 IP).

Thank God CJ looks like he's ready to go. Our bullpen is going to really suck, I'm afraid.

Was Rupe bringing it at 94 last year? I don't remember that. He kept the ball down more than Turnbow did, IMHO.

Vizquel is going to be good for this team - I'm glad they picked him up.

10 more days!
