Rangers Swept By Devil Rays

I've got nothing.

Texas has now lost four games in a row, and sit at 15-26. With Anaheim leading 6-3 over Seattle, Texas will likely be 8.5 games back by the end of the night.

As of May 17th, 2007, I'm declaring the Rangers, and their season, officially dead.

P.S. - Willie Eyre sucks.

I posted this on the yahoo boards, but I want to say it here, too. Last night was another example of Washington's ineptide and lack of understanding of the nuances of the game.





A few nights ago we were tied in extra innings and Washington brought Feldman in to pitch the bottom of the 10th, I think it was. Feldman - the guy has given up almost as many walks as innings pitched - oh - and he also serves up a lot of hits. Sure enough... WALK, HIT , INTENTIONAL WALK - GAME WINNING HIT. No outs made. Game over. Washington should have brought in Gagne there - you don't lose with your best pitcher sitting rested on the bench. You only bring in a spare like Feldman when you absolutely have to.





You'd think Washington would have learned his lesson, but NO, he does the same EXACT thing last night with Eyre. Gagne is sitting there, and we get EYRE to serve up the walk-off homer. At least make them beat our best pitcher - don't just hand it to them like that. The only reason Eyre is up here is because of injuries. I think it's pretty clear that he (and Feldman) is not a mlb pitcher at this point in his career.





Washington is clueless. I'm trying to give him a chance, but he just repeatedly does stupid, stupid things - things that even BUCK would never do, and I hated Buck.





Ugh.
