NEWSFLASH: Millwood Removed From Start

Kevin Millwood has been removed from his start this afternoon against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim after just 1 2/3 innings. Eric Nadel and Victor Rojas are guessing it's his left hamstring flaring up again, which put him on the disabled list in the first place. Millwood was down 4-0 after a first inning Casey Kotchman grand slam, and had runners on 1st and 2nd with two outs when he was taken out.

Willie Eyre has been brought into the game, and forced Vladimir Guerrero to pop out to end Anaheim's 2nd inning scoring threat. Stay tuned for updates; this is obviously not a good development.

UPDATE: The radio guys just confirmed that Millwood has re-aggravated his left hamstring. No word yet on the severity. With Mike Wood's recent struggles, Bruce Chen or John Koronka are the most likely replacements should Millwood require another stint on the disabled list.

Nothing is going right for these guys these days. I watched yesterdays game and they got lucky Cruz hit the homer for the walk off.

Wow this team is bad. They are painful to watch. There is so much wrong there that I don't even have the energy to go into it all. I say, for the hundreth time, blow the thing up. Keep Young, Kinsler - I guess you gotta keep Cruz and McCarthy just so you can hope you got something for Danks and Coco. Jeesh. Anyway, I expect many would disagree with me, but I'd rather watch a team full of AAA guys get a chance to play and prove themselves than see this stinking pile of horse dooty (sorry Horsedooty - didn't mean to insult you by comparing your name with this pathetic team).

I hope I'm wrong about this, but so far I'm not impressed with Washington. He's WAY too laid-back. Yes, no one liked Buck, and he was a bit much - but you just don't go to the other extreme. Someone has to stand up and call these players out for sucking so bad and playing so poorly. When I was a lad, learning baseball, my coach always said, physical errors are one thing - everyone's allowed to make one now and then. But mental errors are unforgiveable and WILL get you benched. For the life of me I can't figure out why Washington allows the crap I'm seeing to continue, night after night. He's going to lose his job if he's not careful.

Okay, that's me, ranting. I'm done now.

no offense taken. I agree with your assessment of this team. I too think Washington is a nice man but way too laid back. At some point, as you say, someone needs to call this team out and say this is unacceptable and play or sit down.
