What is your opinion of the A.J. Pierzynski signing?
MJH on accountability
Matt Garza was obtained just for spots like this one. He was brought in to help get the Rangers into the playoffs--where his presence would be even more valuable. The Rangers have never needed a win this badly.Tomorrow night starter is TBA---because it won't matter if they lose tonight. Can the Rangers and Garza rise to the occasion? The season and Matt Garza's future are on the line. Can they get a win tonight? Recent evidence says they will not. They are mathematically alive but they fail the eye test,.Even a blind squirrel finds an acorn occasionally --right?
It seems to me that the season was on the line 6 games ago and they tanked. It has a historically terrible home stand . This team is through. It would be nice to see them win tonight but they wont make the playoffs. Two September collapses are just unthinkable.Maybe blind squirrels have no nuts.
I really hope the blind squirrel is finding an acorn (win) tonight. The acorn is in the unfamiliar territory of the other squrrel he has to comepte against for the only acorn, though.
Garza, lost again. though games is still going on as I post. He is now in 11 starts 3 and 5 in 71 innings with a 4.94 era. Way to go JD, Grimm could have matched those stats, much less give away Olt, Ramirez and above all CJ Edwards. The sad fact that remains, is to justify that give away Garza must be signed. In another article written by none other then Eric Reining that some how made my Texas Rangers post, titled his article "Long term, missing the postseason benefits the Rangers". His basic premise is that if the Rangers make the playoffs then Washington would be kept as manager, and his very opinionated and full of personal attacks on things, players, and staffs he has no idea what he is talking about and that would be a bad thing. Some how or some way he he has the disillusioned belief that Daniels is the savior and not the creator of this September collapse. A collapse that was orchestrated back last winter by JD's inactivity while letting so much of the heart and strength of the team walk, and his attempts of fixing the situation only made a worse scenario, and in the process striped his high level minor league prospects even if they were not to be a direct benefit to the Major league team and least minimally wasted in ill advised trades that has gone back over the past 4 years, if not since JD made his first disastrous trade also being his first. But one can not blame Daniels, his only knowledge was pragmaticaly speaking only as a fantasy participant, but the management that hired him in the first place. Please name, beyond a Hamilton for Volquez [and Edinson was an all star caliber NL starter until blowing out his arm], a trade that turned out well. Look honestly even at the Lee or Teixeira trades, and tell me how much they have benefited the 2013 Rangers. And for a DYNASTY, it is the long term that counts. But way back at the begiinning of the 2013 season began, a 85-77 season looked like a solid prediction, it may end up exactly those numbers.
I am constantly amazed at how LITTLE Leah knows about baseball.
It hurts to lead the league all season long except for a brief time and then cannot win in September. I havethought this for sometme now, but feel it should now be put in print. I QUESTION WASH'S JUDGMENT AS THE MANAGER! Let me explain why.First, when you get down to crunch time, wouldnt it be wise to put your BEST players on the field? IMO. ADDUCCI had no business out there when you come down the stretch trying to win a pennant or make the playoffs. PLAYOFFS? PLAYOFFS?? Afraid we can forget that. Adducci has talent but now is no time for examining talent........wait for it-..SECOND...MORELAND and MURPHY. You will not find a better fielding 1st baseman but our problem is not with the glove--it's with the bat. He has struck out--what-9 of the last 14 at bats??? And Murphy? There is not a nicer person on the roster than Murph, but again; we need BATS--not niceness! No matter where Wash tries to hide these two in the batting order, they keep coming up when we need the big hit and they just are NOT producing. Loyalty is good but not when it costs you the pennant or more. Have you noticed the attendance dropping off??I had a boss one time that had a saying, "I DONT WANT TO HEAR ABOUT THE LABOR PAINS--I JUST WANT TO SEE THE BABY". Production---that's what baseball is all about.WASH and his (our) Rangers are NOT producing. He needs to shut the door and lay it on the line so they all understand it. " OUR jobs are on the line if we dont start producing"!!
How did Matt Garza make it to the big leagues without learning to field his position? Any high school player can field bunts better than he does. Does he just refuse to work at it? Hell, when he picks the ball up he can't even throw it to first base. It looks like he's aiming it or shot putting the damn ball. He's ;looking for an $80 million contract. He won't get it here. But why do i think that he will have a great rebound season somewhere next year. Like Koji? This entire team is a fail. They are pressing and playing scared. This season is over.
The season was on the line the first time i posted this. I think it is already over now.We know what it feels like to be winning our way into the playoffs with all the excitement, enthusiasm and momentum.Remember 2010 and 2011?Win or lose tonight--this team just doesn't have it!
Well what do you know Matt Garza was good tonight. Thank God the Royals were gentlemen and didn't bunt on him.
Good and bad days as the weather there and here. And my life...
Terry, I do not know about 2010 & 2011.
Still I do believe this team is going to grab the WS not WC.
What is wrong with me? Sounds like you know everything, making their limits on your own?
Anything can happen in life or baseball, ISNT't IT? (either one way or another, or good or bad)
This site is supposed to be open to every people who are interested in baseball and Rangers?
