What is your opinion of the A.J. Pierzynski signing?
MJH on accountability
What we have here is two teams going in opposite directions. The Oakland Athletics are a team of destiny, having swept the Tampa Bay Rays and Detroit Tigers--if you don't count Torii.Meanwhile the Texas Rangers have barely managed any success against the Southside Sox and Minnesoda Twinkies.Get the picture?Derek Holland has had more success than any Rangers starter against the pesky A's. If the Oakland A's chase Holland and win today, a sweep will ensue. The fragile Ranger fandom is about to crater.Sorry to have to say this.
It does not matter who wins in the West, Oakland or Texas. Both will get in unless there is a monumental collapse. The Rangers pitching will keep them in games and play .500 ball. But unless the team bats get hot after the 28th, they are not going anywhere. The A's can not match in their pitching the Rangers, but have more pop in their starting 9, which leads to hot and cold streaks. Any other team beyond Boston, Detroit and Tampa Bay will be hard pressed to beat out the 5. Must play at minimum 2 out of 3 wins till the end of the season a tall order when the schedule have the Yankees playing Boston and Tampa and Baltimore 14 games, Baltimore finishes the last 3 weeks [20 games] against their own division. AND Cleveland is just a solid .500 team. So as I said, the 5 playoff teams are already decided, unless the Rangers have a total melt down. The A's, aside from the Rangers, play nothing but below .500 teams that will be playing for very little, so they are a near given, even if they lose both series to the Rangers [and it is over for the Rangers as winning the West if they are swept at Oakland] and will have the same scenario as last year, except sub the Rays and Price instead of the Orioles. So Darvish will have a second opportunity to play more then 1 game in the playoffs. The team has been very consistent the whole season and will know what they need going forward. Pitching has been the strength and should be even more so for 2014. What they lack is punch, but that also was a given when going into this season. A super solid August will carry the Rangers to the playoff, but that is as far as they go. See the Rangers finishing off September with 11-14 which will get them there but no further. The A's if they can maintain will separate from the Rangers and could be as much as 5 games.
and a big shout out of thanks to capt obvious[leah of arlington]
Who cares about your post JD, is that not obvious even to you after all the negative post slinged in your direction over the months. Why do you bother to post, are you that ignorant or that deprived that all you can do is to offer pointless and mindless insulting criticism of every one. Do you suffer from Tourette Sybdrome? Or is your personality such that you can not offer anything of your own personal opinion about baseball and give up nothing but garbage. Every one has had enough of your yawns, idiots, and above all derogatory insults of some ones name. That alone is over and beyond, and accounts for so many who would like to beat the crap out of you, but they also know that would we just as pointless. For who would want to, with some one below so much contempt. But congrats again, for single handedly destroying a decent forum. You remain the most prolific poster, as if it was much more than a just another baseball forum to you, as if it was a critical part of your life. Yet, you can not even slightly comprehend your own self destructive behavior. Do you have such a low opinion of yourself and feel so isolated as to kill off the very thing you seem to care for. Wake up, it may still not be to late, but from this forum you have antagonized nearly all who do not see the sad and deprived corner you have placed yourself.
Wow that bitch is pissed-PMS??
JD you are so classy and it's a pleasure posting with you....not
