What is your opinion of the A.J. Pierzynski signing?
MJH on accountability
Redemption is a powerful force.
Redemption for Wash, for Josh, and now for Cruz.
Redemption has been what put this club over the top, what made these guys ready to fight for eachother. Overcoming sin, slumps, sloppy play, and sloppy living is what fuels this team. Yes Josh went by the way side but his story was genuine in many ways as is Wash's and Cruz's. Cruz is a guy who people like, because he treats people with respect. What a difference between Braun and Cruz. It seems like when you see a guy down and out, even if its on account of his own stupidity, you have one of two responses. One is of compassion, that guy is worthy of redemption and is ready to receive it. The other is digust, that guy is only in it for himself and wouldn't know what to do with redemption if it smacked him in the face.
The other thing about this club is that its young. The most recent slump taught this club something....you aren't going to win with veteran talent. Not only do you not have enough but you need an energy that veterans can't supply. Its all about the young, the hunger, the mix between youth and veterans, the happiness the club experiences when the starving have a steak for dinner for the first time ever.
They can't stop smiling no matter how hard they try even though we need to wipe that smile off their face.
Why? Because no one needs to be too happy until this is said and done, until we hold the final trophy. Until then happiness is secondary to toughness, focus, intention, meanness, and fight.
Redemption doesn't come easy. Its something you fight for, wipe that smile off your face, and keep on keeping on.
Cruz and Braun are one and the same except Braun is better and younger.. This wasn't a nd isn't a morality play. Cruz cheated-got caught-next. The smiles will be gone soon enough as 3 starting pitchers and a great bullpen CANNOT carry a team to the WS. NEXT
I hope you get Lou Gehrig's disease.
It's going to take more than an intangible like redemption but the three pitchers and great bullpen are a great start. Pitching wins championships. Throw in the new and improved Ranger offense of the last couple weeks and I like our chances. Lots of games left though and anything can happen. June and July schedules were brutal and we're still in first. August schedule is a cakewalk in comparison. Ranger is in a great position.
Maybe you need to look closer at this lineup and remember this was against the Angels.
I understand it was the lowly Angels. But the Ranger hammered them convincingly. And before that they took a series at Oakland. And before that was the beginning of their current good offensive fortune with the 3-walkoff sweep of a more determined Angel team that is only going thru the motions now. I get it.
Like I said: Lots of games left and anything can happen. But where we're at now? Driver's seat.
Trade for a bat-then talk.
It doesn't sound like the bat is coming. Ranger's making a play for Alex Rios but unlikely to land him. If Ranger's going to the playoffs, it's gonna be with the team as is.
By the way, I have no delusions about winning the World Series this year. Getting into the playoffs is the objective. From there? Anything can happen, including a longshot championship.
Keep the faith.
Btw-what does a bat sound like when it is coming?
Same as a tree falling in the woods with no one around to hear it.
I wouldn't be surprised if we never see Nelson Cruz in a Ranger uniform again. If the Rangers make the playoffs, they'll have continued to play well without him and shown he's not a necessity. Also, bringing him back at such a crucial time after such a long layoff would most likely be more of a hindrance than help.
But more importantly, bringing Cruz back would send the message that Jon Daniels and the Ranger FO. to a certain degree, have a tolerance for PED users. I don't think they'd want to send that message to anyone, especially the players throughout the rest of the organization that are trying to win a position on this team without resorting to cheating.
Get your head out of the sand.
Jon Daniels respects the game, the integrity of it and, most importantly, the integrity of his own ballclub. Cruz no longer fits the mission to maintain that integrity at the highest level. IMO, he won't be back.
So Wash doing cocaine ifits that integrity thing? GOOD LORD the idiots on here.
You can say that again: "Good Lord, the idiots on here (Just Sayin/JD. Same guy)." Dumbass.
Fuckyou sandwich-don't be a fool.
OK, Dumbass. Thanks.
