What is your opinion of the A.J. Pierzynski signing?
MJH on accountability
It appears JD and the Rangers are targeting Aoki. Another lefty outfielder with resemblance in his game to Ichiro, is he a good fit? Or are the Rangers looking also at Gallardo in a multi-player deal with the Brewers and would this solve the Rangers need for another starter and bat?
Why don't we try to upgrade?
I upgraded my dildo and its probably the best decision I've ever made.
Aoki is a perfect fit (I brought him up a few weeks ago), especially if it comes with Gallardo. If we could get those 2 and trade Nathan for Castellanos, we would be set for the next couple years.
I thought the object was to IMPROVE your team.
Good move JD--get sum rechargeable batteries too. You'll never get the real dealio
The Rangers FO, for whatever reason, seem to be placing more value on prospects and less on proven veterans than the rest of the organizations. I don't think there will be any major trades. Most likely, there we be another poorly thought out trade like acquiring Dempster and Soto last season.
Aoki--never heard of him before these rumors surfaced.Sounds great with his experience and friendly salary.
That's why you're not a GM Teri.
My take on Aoki is that since Opening Day 2012 Norichika's WAR [for those who weigh that heavily] is 5.6, whereas Stanton stands at 5.5. However, Aoki is a lefty, excellent defense, speedy outfielder, who has a very low strikeout rate, but with minimum power. The Rangers all ready have Beltre, Profar [ though a switch hitter and now playing some left field], and above that Martin as run scorers. What the Rangers need is outfielders, preferably from the right side of the plate, that are run producers. This is where Bautista, Rios and above all Stanton fit. But at what cost? Gallardo would be an upgrade over Grimm and Tepesch, but only if those two is what the Brewers want in a deal, unlikely
Aoki would be a nice piece but doesn't address our very pressing need for a right handed bat!Gallardo is good and eats innings--but i don't trust "NL" pitchers.
Garza is the best available--but will be too expensive as a rental i think. And i doubt he will agree to extension this close to free agency? This is the worst time to deal for him cause he's hot and several teams are in the bidding! Definition of buying HIGH.
We don't want to give up players now that could be used to pull off the exotic trade in the off season. If our core players don't pick it up--Elvis-Moreland-Murphy -Kinsler-Profar we won't make the playoffs any way.NO sense trading for a rental pitcher who would never pitch in a playoff game. I'm sure not qualified to be a GM. It's fun to speculate.I'm happy to let Jon Daniels figure the course of action.
Lee--thanks for a baseball topic!
Teri c: Actually I don't find you quaklified to post on HERE.
I am too quaklified!
Wow she found a typo.
