What is your opinion of the A.J. Pierzynski signing?
MJH on accountability
I literally got sick to my stomach last night watching Yasil Puig and Zach Grienke almost get their heads knocked off.Headhunting must stop!
So Zach Grienke accidentially hit Cody Ross. And then Ian Kennedy deliberately throws at the head of Dodgers rookie sensation, Yasil Puig.
Next Grienke leads off the next inning hitting Miguel Montero in the back.Benches clear--warnings are issued.
Somehow Dodgers skipper Don Mattingly lets Grienke bat for himself ---and guess what????Kennedy now throws intentionally at Grienkes head.......
This primitive macho tradition needs to stop.
That was not a deliberate throw at Puig's head. I'm pretty certain Kennedy wasn't trying to put two men on in a close game. That ball just got away from him. The throw at Greinke was bush league. I'd be worried the next time Ian goes to bat against the Dodgers.
Decorum and civility are the American way. But so is competitive zeal and egoism. Polar opposites that balance each other out. The scales typically tip toward the former. But they cant' be stopped from tipping the other way. And when they do? I say appreciate it for its natural beauty. There is no right or wrong in the matter, especially in sports.
the tradition is not to throw at players heads. It should be to hit them in the butt or something like that. Going for the head is bush league and I would imagine the dodgers will not forget that.
@sandwisch Appreciate it for its natural beauty! Really?
I would appreciate seeing a $25,000 fine and 10 game suspension for Kennedy and Gibson.
a 10 game suspension for kennedy is TWO starts. how bout 30 games minimum?
I think somebody should just go out and smash Kennedy in the face with a bat.
Not surprized an idiot like you would think that way.
He'll get nailed the next time he faces the Dodgers.
Baseball fights are whack. There isn't actual beef, because most white kids that end up being baseball players aren't very familiar with fighting. It's all private hitting instructors, private pitching tutors, and a silver spoon in their mouth; of course I'm generalizing, but that's just the reality of it.
Zack Greinke and Ian Kennedy would love to fight each other, because they are both small and feel like they could handle the other. Hell, Greinke probably still thinks he can beat the shit out of Carlos Quentin.
Anyway, the point is, there's going to be a retaliation, but nowhere near the level it was at. I'm sure MLB had a chat with people within both organizations to let them know this stupid shit won't be tolerated. In the end, it will probably result in Ian Kennedy getting hit in the thigh by an 88 mph fastball.
Agreed. But i hope its 92 mph in the ribs.
Yeah because we all know pain is the great equalizer. GOD DAMN IDIOTS
For all you softies, you got what you hoped for: Fines and suspensions handed out en masse. That's sure to be the end of throwing at hitters and the ensuing brawling.
Nope. Sorry, it won't be. Why? Throwing at hitters and the ensuing brawling is a natural part of the game. Natural. i.e. There's no stopping it.
There will always be resullting suspensions and fines. MLB has no choice but to do so. But as a fan? Enjoy it for its natural beauty.
You're a god damn idiot.
