Most realistically, I think one of those positions will go to Engel Beltre, because he'll be out of options and is a plus-plus defender. I believe the Rangers main focus in the outfield is how they play defense, so with Gentry/Martin/Beltre in the fold it gives you three cheap guys who play better than average in that department. That gives you the flexibility to go after a middle-of-the-order right fielder, of which I imagine Texas would only be attracted to a handful.
Among these include:
Giancarlo StantonJason HeywardCarlos GonzalezRyan BraunJason HeywardAlex Gordon
1. There is virtually no chance that has a sub 100 wRC+ in AA and above (and he really isn't close) will be a starter for us in 2013. On the roster? Maybe. Anywhere near an every day player? Extreme long shot.
2. I doubt that Heyward, Braun, or Gonzalez will be on the block any time soon. All three are either going to be cheap or are locked up for a long time. And all three are on teams that probalbly won't be having a fire sale any time soon.
The Rangers missed the fire sale when they refused to trade Elvis for Upton. I like Gordon but don't know what KC would want in return. The likely sellers are the cellar dwellers: SEA, both CHI teams, TOR, MIN, and MIL. I doubt even an Astros type season would encourage MIL to trade Braun. Bautista is getting older, the CHI teams don't have anything in the OF. Slim and expensive pickings.
wait. i got it! who gives a rat's ass if we win or lose. WE will have the most strike outs! YEAH
Does anyone know how to get people banned from posting here? I think someone's paying people to post as me.

Yawnnnn....yawnnnn...yawnnnn....I am original, and stop faking my name....I don't know Elaine the casier!
The only one who knows which posts are mine .... is me!
It wasn't really my intention to anoint Engel Beltre a starter. My premise is Martin as the everyday CF, [insert MOTOB] in RF, and a platoon of sorts for Craig Gentry and Engel Beltre in LF. My stance is that left field defense is more important than another bat of some kind.
