What is your opinion of the A.J. Pierzynski signing?
MJH on accountability
Midseason - Stanton for Nellie Cruz (cash), Profar, Olt, Grimm, Ramirez
Offseason - Price for Holland, Ross, Scheppers, Garcia, Buckel
(5) SP - Darvish, Price, Harrison, Tepesch, Perez
(7) BP - Nathan (resign 2yr 15 mill club option on 3rd for 7.5mill, Soria, Ogando, Feliz, Ortiz, Kirkman, Lewis(resign one year 4.5 million w/player option for 3 million)
(5) OF - Murphy (resign 3yr 20 million), Stanton, Baker (resign 2 year 4.5 mill w/3rd year club option for 3 mill), Gentry, Martin
(5) IF - Beltre, Kinsler, Andrus, Moreland, Solarte
(2) C - AJ(resign 3 yrs 36 million) Soto (resign 2 year 6.5 million)
(1) DH - Berkman (resign 1 yr 10 million mutual option for 6 million)
Batting Order: Elvis, Berkman, Stanton, Beltre, AJ, Kinsler, Murphy, Moreland, Martin
Stanton - Texas says no and right now Miami says no.
Price - Texas would never do that and Tampa is laughing as they fleece 3.5 - 4 huge pieces of our current keys to success. You have seen Tepesch ceiling. His floor is not far from th feeling, but if his slider regresses at all, he's below replacement.
Holland is a big talent and as he continues to grows will be a 2 showing flashes of Ace material. Harrison has been effectively wild for years and will heavily regress.
If we resign Murphy, a guy I like, it will be cheap and I doubt he would like it.
I like the idea of signing AJP for another year or two. We have not had a solid staff manager in a good wile...and he plays 130times a year...and has consistent at bats.
If Gentry maintains form, Martin is a future COF, hopefully for us as his power and confidence continues to grow into what it will.
I'm a Moreland apologist and hope he gets his stuff together during his LHP at bats. He shows signs of promise and just needs to be get out of his own head.
NO--Do not trade Holland
Be glad Jon Daniels is calling the shots
2014 roster? I don't think this roster stays the same by trade deadline THIS year.
Bold & respctable (if reckless)
in `14 it's 0gando the reliever, Soria the saver & Nathan the MachineWood is what we need: Murph, Morland & Platoons (Gentry vs. Martin) are key: We need Giancarlo?AJ stays - Beltre, Adrus, Kinsler (Profar) & 1st Base (Moreland nor Berkman long term?)Order should be: Elvis, Kinsler, 1st Base, Beltre, AJ, Cruz, Gentry, Martin... Berkman, Profar & a bat!?Rotation might be: Darvish, Harrison/Lewis/Holland, Feliz/Perez/Tepech
All Trolling aside THAT is an awesome place to start from
Please explain why we are now paying a 36 yr old catcher $6 mil and will DOUBLE his salary to $12 mil for his age 37-40 seasons???
2013 could have all that & so much more - we shall see & some will enjoy (what ever the end!)"This is the year we end our futility. This is the year We Win it All.
Not a very great proposal, Joseph. Let's try again.
You're crazy if you think the Marlins will take Cruz for Stanton, even if we throw in a pile of prospects. Nobody is going to rescue Miami this year, so they have no reason to trade for him. They'd probably just as soon bring up an AAA guy. Or AA. Or A. Whatever. It's the Marlins. They're dumb, but not that dumb.
I would love Price, but that's too much to give up for him. They might demand that, but the Rangers wouldn't give them that.
We are paying A.J. $7.5m, and he's looking like a good investment on that. If he keeps looking like this I wouldn't be opposed to having him back next year, but 3 years? For a catcher that'll be 37? Won't happen.
I'm with Ozzie. I think we make a couple trades this year. At least one of them will be a pretty big deal, if not a blockbuster. Stanton would be nice, but I'm not holding my breath. Instead, I expect to see a solid guy whose name comes up rarely, if ever, in trade discussions.
Andy- I agree with a lot of what you said, but I think it's pretty obvious that Profar would be the headliner of the Stanton trade, not Cruz. He's just a sweetener if we throw in some cash
Someone has been playing MLB The Show!!!
It'll be near impossible to determine the Rangers' roster by the end of the year, let alone the 25 man roster in 2014. Slam the brakes there buddy.
guys....I don't know who noticed...but JD wasn't the first person to respond to this post!! I dunno about you, but this seems like progress to me.
why in the crap are you already looking at next year? this is stupid...
