What is your opinion of the A.J. Pierzynski signing?
MJH on accountability
Simply amazing!!! Notice the MPH difference and where the ball starts and finishes. Reminds me of playing hung over in college and my buddy telling me to hit the one in the middle!!!
Here's what's amazing. It took you a week to find this.
What else is amazing is the fact JD is the first to reply to every single forum topic...just sitting at his computer...refreshing...waiting hours and hours for the next topic to popup...only to reply with absolute nonsense...its hilarious how sad of a life u live...something tells me you're referred to as liiiiiiiiiiiiiil biiiiiiiiiitch around your household
But yet you just did the same thing Douches.

You on the other hand post instantly on EVERY topic.....it is sad looking at how much time you have to literally waste.
Hopefully you are under the age of 20, otherwise time to get a new job or just one in general.
Really, your name is 'tricky dick'. OMG
No, not my name, just my handle.
The trick is to ignore JD. Accept that he will post something worthless on every forum. It's annoying, but if you treat it like the advertisements (automatic and irrelevant) it should have little impact.
We now have a true ace. The question is, do we (besides a healthy Colby Lewis) have a #2?
Tepesch...Need to see A LOT more
Scheppers...Major Arm. Looks comfy in his pen role. Keep him there.
Ross....Reliable Lefty. Team can't afford to let him out of that role. Esp. w/Kirkman history.
Feliz...First has to show that he can still pitch in the Major Leagues. If he's the old Neffy, see Tepesch.
Drseuss: Stick to the fantasy children's books
So "TrickyDick" your handle is that of a DILDO?
What, exactly, is Derek Holland? Within the answer to this question lies the key to the Rangers 2013 season and, perhaps, their near term future.
To this point, IMO, he's looked like a 3-4 tweener. You know, a guy that can, on occasion or for short stretches, look great and make people think he's ready for TORP designation. But ultimately never gets there, due to hidden deficiencies.
Holland and Harrison both have the possibility to be #2s. Holland has actually been great in all his starts but 1 so far this year, and I think there's a decent chance that one game isn't so bad if Gas Can Frasor isn't brought into the game - I think Dutch had a significantly better chance of stranding those runners, but he didn't get to, obviously. All in all, Derek has been solid so far this year. Ogando, so far, is the more erratic one than Dutch. Harry will obviously be out 2 more months, but when he comes back if he looks like he did last year he's a solid #2 as well. Colby probably won't be a #2 but he can be a solid #3 if he's up to snuff. Tepesch, and Grimm... pretty small sample sizes but I like what I've seen so far this year. Will be interesting when they face teams repeatedly and we'll see if they can beat the hitters' adjustments. Perez will get a shot at some point.
But really, if our rotation has a #1, a #2, and 3 #3s (certainly possible), that's pretty darn good. 2 #2s behind a true #1 is hard to beat; very few teams have that or better. And the Rangers might be one team that does, later this summer.
Like you said, Scheppers is doing great in the pen. Besides, they tried to put him back into the rotation once in the minors and he wasn't nearly as effective. He's a BP guy, at least for now. No indication Ross can't be a starter, but right now he's a crucial BP guy too, especially with Kirkman and Lowe and Frasor all being highly volatile, and Ortiz being the new guy.
When Feliz and Soria come back, if they can still pitch, things should only improve. Looking forward to that. (It will be weird seeing Feliz earlier than the 9th, and he probably won't start this year.)
Darvish is a #1. Holland is #3, Harry is a #3, Tepesch (if he keeps it up) is a #3-4, Grimm is a #4, Ogando is a #4 who should be in the bull pen. Colbra is a #3 who plays up when his fly balls are staying in the park.
I'm not sure we have a #2. I've always thought of a #2 as a TORP guy who doesn't lead your staff. Greinke is a #2, Scherzer is a good example of a #2, so is Josh Johnson.
Undoubtly JD would get his ass kicked in public for a mouth like his, so he chooses to use it behind the comfort of his keyboard. I aint mad atcha JD, do what you gotta do. Sorry for the tardy post guys, I don't come on here everyday and thought it was a pretty cool video.
Just a week late mansfield mush
I had only seen the original. The updated one with the speed and the pitch type is pretty neat too.
A. J. Pierzynski is professional enought to tolerate Daru's ego or arrogance (who often tends to want to throw balls of his choice. This has been a unique habit of his since he palyed in Japan).
No wonder Daru so far seems to have experienced the so-called sophomore jinx. It may be largely because of the fact that, in addition of his arsenal of pitches (By the way, who can tell apart his hard curve, vertical slider, and split finger?), he really feels comfortable with Pierzynski having caught him most of times.
This is a quote from a daily newspaper I read this morning (from an article about Daru and AJ (who is, according to this article, introduced as one of most unliked baseball palyers in the US) :"He (AJ) treats me (Daru) as a (mature) adult handles a (insolent) kid." And "He (AJ) is not so bad (or vilolent or rough?) as everyone around thinks him." Note that this is based on my translation and also my understanding of Daru's Japanese as myself a Japanese native speaker, and I have added those words in parentheses in order to give you guys (non-Japanese native speakers) a clearer idea of what I think Daru really intends to say. Not to mention I try here to translate every word as palin as possible; still, I may have failed to translate exactly what he wanted to say. Then, just allow me.
There was an article here that translated the same conversation as
“I heard a lot about A.J. and from what I heard, he didn’t have a very good reputation,” Darvish said through an interpreter. “But, in my mind, now that I’ve gotten a chance to work with him, he’s a very good person, a very good catcher and a very mature player. He treats me like an adult, but almost like a parent would treat an adult child. It’s a very good thing.”
So it sounds like Darvish really respects AJ, and that's a great thing. btw I dig the Daru nickname, where is that from?
@Nompton: one intriguing thing about Harrison last year was a pretty big discrepancy between his WAR totals. His bWAR says he was basically an ace, but his fWAR says he was a MORP (probably #3). I think he's closer to a #3 than #1, but still capable of being a #2. It will be very interesting to see if, when he comes back, he looks like he did last year.
And Dutch, well... Dutch is an enigma. We know how great his stuff is, and we've seen him be dominant for stretches of several games. But every now and then he just melts down. At this point, I doubt he'll be consistent enough to be an ace, but I still think he could (possibly) be a solid #2, which would be more than fine with me. Right now, he's probably a #3.
I personally disagree that Ogando necessarily belongs in the pen, but he still has a lot of work to do. But if Tepesch and Grimm continue to impress, Ogando looks like the candidate to be relegated to the bullpen to give Colby a spot when he comes back. Chances are, unless Ogando completely fails, and Grimm and Tepesch pitch above their heads, one of them will probably get the boot because of seniority.
Do we have much of a bead on the ceilings of Grimm and Tepesch?
Also, while Yu has only the 6th lowest ERA (1.65), he leads the majors in FIP, xFIP, and SIERA. If he isn't the best pitcher in the league, he's close.
Even considering the posting fee, Darvish could easily provide surplus value on the Rangers' investment in him.
Yu is ours and you can't have him.
Seriously Andy? do you luv him?
BTW, original source of GIF:
I don't even know what a #2 is.
You've got your unicorn #1, your workhorse #3s and your donkey #5s.
Does that make your #2s like your Pegasus? Or are Pegasus your #1s because there was only one in mythology and your #2s are unicorns?
Are Zebras a #4? I don't know anything about Zebras except they're black and white (or white and black if you're racist) and get eaten by lions.
Wait are MOTOBs lions? That would make sense.
