What is your opinion of the A.J. Pierzynski signing?
MJH on accountability
With all the Profar for Taveras trade talk, I was wondering something else. Current team needs aside, if you were a GM and both of these guys were available in a draft, who would you select? I'm not talking in terms of fantasy baseball, I mean a hypothetical drafting.
I think its very close. I think you take Profar because he's a good SS while Taveras is a COF.

Profar. No doubt. They are neck-and-neck but Profar seems to be a slightly superior defender.
Trade him now--while his name is hot!
And Taveras may well be better than Upton.
Trade him for who?
Let's leave that to Jon Daniels.
What is your hostility to my opinions?I'm not on here to answer to you.
Terri c-please forgive Andy. He read a sports page once and now he thinks he knows baseball.
I'm not hostile to your opinions. I'm genuinely curious. Who would you want to trade him for? Taveras? We've discussed that one quite a bit.
I'd prefer to try for Stanton but apparently the Marlins aren't interested in trading him. While that could be a tactic for increasing their bargaining position, we all know the Rangers won't make a trade unless it's a reasonable return - which is a good thing - and we're all aware that the Marlins operate differently than most teams, I'm not sure a deal for Stanton is possible.
Regarding Taveras, how much of an improvement could he mean to the 2013 outfield?
Don't trade a single Rangers prospect until Stanton becomes available. No exceptions.
I think the real question is who do we trade Profar for. Stanton is an MOTOB who is off to a slowwww start but would help our team out significantly, there are pitfalls with him though. Price is a TORP who can absolutely help us out. However with Price his ERA in our ballpark is bad, which is either because we can figure him out or RBiA isn't a good destination for him. Oscar is a top prospect who would be under team control for 6 years however he could be a huge bust just like Profar could be. He could also go on to be one of the best outfielders in the game.
Thank god the decision is not up to me.
Why hasn't Profar been playing regularly?
