What is your opinion of the A.J. Pierzynski signing?
MJH on accountability
Today is the Borbon deadline, correct? Anyone hear anything about a trade?
Dominos has extended the 3 topping large pizza offer through Thursday.
Per MLB trade rumors, DFA, 10 days to find a trade partner, with nothing on the horizon. I wish we could use him in a deal for Bud Norris, but if the Astros want him, they can easily claim him on waivers probably, without giving up any pieces. Oh well...
borbon is better than any other field player on the astros team
Justin Maxwell is better than Borbon. So there ya go. You are wrong.
Personally, I think it's crazy that they would let Borbon go for free. He didn't actually do that badly when he got playing time. It's just that Wash was not happy with his "approach to the game". He definitely has value and there is always a chance that Martin flops.
maybe so but which other astro is better in the field. point is borbon is likely to start there.
Wish him well. There's no place for him in Texas. He's potentially a dynamic offensive player (minus power) but an adventure in the outfield. I really enjoyed watching him in 2009. He, Feldman, and Feliz gave us a reason to tune in to games in September. Thanks, Julio. Good luck.
Hola, Borbon. It's been real. Best of luck!
Per MLB Rumors, Borbon to the Cubs via waiver wire.
Astros had first priority pick, and did not claim him. In the first month of the season, the worst record from the prior year gets priority regardless of league, so there ya go. Catch you later, noodle arm.
I am surprised Baltimore didn't pick him up. I thought he had to go through the AL before the NL could make a claim.
I'm surprized your mom is letting you stay up.
@Primi: I thought so too, but that was a false rumor. Here's how it works:
"If a player is waived, any team may claim him. If more than one team claims the player from waivers, the team with the weakest record in the player's league gets preference. If no team in the player's league claims him, the claiming team with the weakest record in the other league gets preference. In the first month of the season, preference is determined using the previous year's standings."
That last sentence appears to mean that in the first month, leagues are irrelevant. After the Astros past, Cubs had second rights.
Who gives a shit?
Thx, Rangerbourne. I guess Borbon really had just marginal value if the Astros passed.
He was put on waivers. Did you think teams were gonna knock each other over for him?
