What is your opinion of the A.J. Pierzynski signing?
MJH on accountability
So Washington goes to the mound, talks to Ogando and he retires the next nine batters...no kudos? No acknowledgement? I guess the only way you retarded baseball experts will give his due is if he says he is a genius, starts wearing a fake hairpiece and carries around a secret notebook....sigh.
Captain Derek Holland
Racists don't give 'kudos' to black guys.
Did we ever find out whether it was rock or powder?
I've watched or attended every Rangers game since the arrival of Mr. Washington. And I can not recall anyone ever saying WASH managed a good game...............that would be news.
mmurphf: Can't find the Rec button... needs one.
Yes, Wash has intellect. I never said he didn't. What he can't do is manage a team.
He has no concept of keeping his bench fresh and ready and he has no ability to manage his relievers and he does not manage the egos when someone does something extraordinary (Kinser: 6-for-6 with a cycle immediately followed by a month of funk; Josh, 4-for-4 with 4 2-run HRs then the REST OF THE FRICKIN' SEASON feeling like all things are his and he doesn't need more than to throw his glove on the field to be a super star).
And, he doesn't understand when an opposing manager is blowing smoke up his butt (and, his team's) making him and his team think they are infallible when, in fact, they are just gullible.
This clown is not a manager. He's a GREAT coach. He's an OUTSTANDING cheerleader. He an EXCELLENT friend. But, he can't make the tough decision (sit a guy in a slump? Oh dear, what if he gets angry?). He lets his players run the team and all he does is whatever they want.
That, my friend, is not a manager.
Draggle the idiot
As to rock or powder I suggest you ask your daughter Inquiring Mindless.
Draggle... So who plays for kinsler , an allstar while he slumps? Or hambone? Did pujols sit during his slump? ..All stars just rarely sit in the big leagues and they play 155 plus games...bench players don't play much in the AL...you want Arias and alike type guys playing 30 games?? Funny....
His bench coach has been in pro ball since 1957, he has been in baseball since 1970, you dont last that long being a clown,,,,,,Maddux is right in his ear on pitching changes ( relievers have been great here the last few years),, it's a tough sport and baseball more than any is a sport of failure where 30% hitting can get u in the Hall.Slumps come and go, sometimes the ball looks like a beach ball and sometimes an aspirin ...
I didn't say Kinsler (or Josh or MY) should be exiled to the bench... just plant 'em there for a few days (you'd have to find someone to play for him in an injury situation - why not a headcase situation?) until they have time to think about ...
Never mind... Clearly last year didn't work. Clearly, the approach the "team" took was wrong.
So, you tell me... what's in need of fixin'?
Davidlast yr on your 25 man roster you had Hamilton, Young, Napoli, Soto, Moreland, and Cruz (and probably a few I missed here) all having crappy years at the plate if we sit all those guys for a week who is going to play?Next you have Lewis and Feliz go down with season ending injury's and Holland out for a month with a bug and shoulder issues the bullpen was a mash unit with Koji and Adams and Ogando all going down.Yet Wash still got this team to 93 wins and another playoff appearance.shit your right lets fire his ass right now!Yes Wash makes some bone head moves but you don't throw the baby out with the bath water!
You are wasting your breath. Draggle wants a white manager ergo Wash must be bad.
If you're on top of the situation (Wash clearly was not), you're addressing these issues one at a time and not all at once.
Take the season Kinsler hit for the cycle in the middle of a 6-for-6 night. He was horrendous for 6 weeks afterward. As that game concluded, a real manager would have been in his ear alerting him to the fact he'd just done something really special and to guard against thinking he's "set" or has reached Nirvana.
A real manager would have made sure, although his head was in the sky, his feet were firmly still planted on terra firma.
Ditto last season with Josh. Yeah, you have a massive success... but, the players have to understand that is a fleeting moment and there are 161 other games to fit around that one and they have to continue to come to play every day and to play at a level commensurate with their abilities - not with their accomplishments.
