What is your opinion of the A.J. Pierzynski signing?
MJH on accountability
Joey is back Nothing else matters. I just remember when those of you raised Holy Hell when the perception in your minds was that Josh 'quit' on his team. Basically Joey did the same thing and no one says a thing. Hypocrites?
Aren't you tired of beating this issue to death? If you have such a big issue with Joey, why are you here? No one is forcing you to visit this site.
From my point of view, I missed regular updates on this site over the past few months. But ultimately (and this is a key difference between Josh and Joey, since you made that comparison), Joey provides this site and all its content to us for free. So, if he wants to take a sabbatical or whatnot, he can do that. He's not under contract to provide us anything on this site.
WOW-Captain Butt Kisser, well put
So you agree they BOTH quit?
Technically, It's not free. Over the past couple of years, Joey has provided a great product in support of Rangers Fans. I visit the site religiously, always hoping for new content. I know I'm not the only one either. I've also donated twice I believe to help with maintenece costs and what not. Now, call it a donation or call it payment for services, either way, the past few months have been taxing on my next donation, if there will be one at all.
Were you required to donate to view the content? Okay, it's free.
Joey "quit" during the offseason, not during the season.
To try to draw a parallel between a blogger not blogging as often as you think he should during an extremely uneventful offseason, and one of the biggest superstars in baseball dogging it down a stretch run in which they were trying to threepeat as AL West champs is ridiculous.
kudos @ johnnyranger
@Juicy-Bones: That is fair. But it was a donation, and it is well within your rights to not make one the next time.
@johnnyranger: Exactly what I was trying to say.
Don't get me wrong, it was definitely a donation, not a payment of any sorts. Honestly, the enormous amount of content and entertainment that Joey had already provided was well worth the small amount of money I gave. Though after donations, there is a hopefullness that the donatee will continue to provide what has been provided.
Maybe there are better baseball fan sites out there, and maybe there are some that manage to find interesting content during the off season, but I haven't found one. BBTiA is a rare gem. It had great writing from Joey and Mike, and has a very intelligent, very articulate set of readers. I don't know anyone who could pull this off, much less someone who is finishing school and in the first year of an accounting career. Those who think they have been unfairly deprived of content should reconsider or help provide it. In my books Joey has an inexhaustible credit balance.
KISS THAT BUTT. How does "Quitter Butt taste?
@JD. I don't think any of the above posters are kissing any ass...it's called respect...and gratitude.
Say what you want about Joey (that's between you guys) but this site is still alive and kicking. If he really quit, the site would be gone all together and we'd all be whining and insulting each other on some other inferior site.
I don't get why people constantly live in the past and can never be appreciative of what's right in front of them.
i'll be so glad when we trade kins
behold our vaunted offense. this, vs hou. just imagine the frustration that awaits us w/ laa. oak and sea
