What is your opinion of the A.J. Pierzynski signing?
MJH on accountability
Espn has the 2013 predictions out and have our little rangers 3rd behind the 1st place Angles and the second place A's.
First off The Angles will be lucky if they don't finish 4th behind Seattle with that pitching staff! they got Weaver and not much else!
Weaver and 11 runs a game.
you watching this tripe? Harrison looks HORRIBLE. and, tepesch as a 5th? laughable. holland is not reliable. nor is ogando. cant figure out who starts. it has changed twice. yeah, we gonna be great
how would you feel if you are throwing a one hitter through 5 on a team 5 days before it counts? you'd say your pitcher is ready. how would you feel if you only had one hit through 5? it is LAA, you'd say, they suck. if it the rangers, you say its just ST. BE OBJECTIVE
Rangers 4th of 5, trailing LAA, Oakland and Seattle....watch Seattle !AJ, Beltre, Moreland, Beckman, Martin/Gentry the Offensive keysQuestion the once great , and for the last two years declining...."club house chemistry"Pitching must carry this team.Offense does not scare , as it has the last three yearsTrading Andrus mandatory NOW ....while value at its highest. He is not a Ranger after '14.Overall will be very competitive Division.....90 wins makes Playoffs.
3rd place sounds reasonable. And statistically speaking, the guys in the Angels rotation now performed better last year than the guys they lost. I know that's not a good way to predict future performances, but the Angels rotation last year was putrid outside of Wilson and Weaver.
My take on the Angels pitching is that they have built a staff that should work well in their park, and their offense can play anywhere.. Tommy Hanson is probably the weak link and potential imploder. Their kid Richards has looked well in ST, so they at least have that to back themselves up.
So this year's Angels rotation is as good as the rotation they had last year when they finished in third place? WOW! Cancel the season and give them the trophy. Or better yet, let's go ahead and see how the season plays out. That offense still has a centerfielder and a catcher who haven't demonstrated the ability to hit and a shortstop who puts up okay 'advanced metrics' numbers offensively, but scares nobody.
For the record, the 'unreliable' Oganda has 30 career starts with an ERA of 2.93 and an opposing hitter OPS of .642 while pitching home games in the American League in a hitter friendly park. Please share your definition of 'reliable' with the rest of the class.
Poor opening to start the season. 4-9 record..
