What is your opinion of the A.J. Pierzynski signing?
MJH on accountability
trade feliz for porcello
I can't wait to see Derek Lowe walk some guys and give up home runs again
He's fucking painful to watch.
TR Sullivan notes Lowe would be coming in for a possible bullpen spot, not the fifth starter. Something about silver linings.
Lowe is a candidate for the bullpen ..NOT under any consideration for #5 SP.
Trade Feliz for Porcello? Have you gone mad? lol
^^^^All our heavy nerd brainiacs above
Meh. Lowe is what he is. If he has to take a start or two it could probably be worse.
Do you know what would really be funny............
I could make an intelligent post on this board and sign it Not this Erica
Having fun Nancy?
He did alright pitching for the Yankees last year.
^^^If so, then why didn't the Yanks resign him, seeing that their staff is dull not sharp at all? He's a typical Daniels no meat sign for cheap. Maybe he'll get by for a month or two. He does throw GB's.
Oh that Terri.
Meh...would be a stretch....Let's here it for billionaire tight wads!
JD --you need to get like Joey--and quit
Terri: By the tone of your posts you already have quit.
If Daniels wanted to break the hard talk on radio and press, he'd make the deal for Porcello
Maybe we can find a 37 year old pitcher with bad knees.Gotta maintain financial flexibility.A billion dollars ain't what it used to be.
$1.25 million? For Derek Lowe? With the potential for incentives?
Might sound like chump change in the larger scope, but it's not like he's a valuable commodity or anything. I'm rather surprised the Rangers spent north of $1 million for him.
A) You can't trade guys on the DL.
B) I'm sure we can find someone in our organization who can give up 11.5 hits per 9 innings, like Porcello did last year.
I was in the clubhouse and I overheard Nolan shouting at JD to sign Lowe. Seems their wives are good friends and Lowe bought some calves from Nolan once.
Low risk, could be high reward. If he's in the bullpen, might be great for short bursts, an inning or so.
He's 39 yrs old and is an EXTREME groundball pitcher and only 2 or 3 years removed from being a legit #2 or #3 SP. The guy is savvy and could lend his experience to an otherwise young staff. If he comes in as a long reliever/spot starter, it might be a really good move. I like this deal...
