As much as I want Joey to come back and #dazzle us with his articles, his work is more important. I think he should find someone to at least keep up with the day-to-day dealings in 500 words or less.

I tend to agree with Nompton on all counts.

The point is, making bits of pocket change here and there writing about a team he loves pales in comparison to the master's degree money he can pull in being an accountant. Any rational person would do the same thing.

Being a writer for BBTiA is a young man's game. Joey appears to have graduated into the career world, so we should all be happy for him instead of calling him stupid names.

At the same time, I have a feeling there are numerous people willing to write minor articles and keep the site policed.

I do not blame anyone for bettering themselves. Hopefully he will consider pass it off to someone who will actually do something with it rather then letting it die a slow death. I think today was the first time I checked the website in last 40 days or so.

Nice inference. I'm sure you would love to take over the reigns of bbtia and dazzle everyone with your ignorance.

I think it would behoove BBTiA to have ~4 opinion writers and one or two regulars who post summaries of daily news and host chats.

Reading: I hope Joey can stick around and continue to write, he really does an outstanding job. While I enjoy Newberg's reports and perspective pieces, I enjoy Joey's usage of stats and wit to put out an outstanding products that some other sites will charge you for (baseballprospectus). After reading some of the outstanding work of Jason Parks (who leans more on his scouting skill) makes you quickly realize what an asset Joey was (is) to the Rangers #blogosphere.

Basically I'm calling BBTiA not a true baseball site and that if we liked it, we should have put a ring on Joey.

The site has gone the way of the Rangers' short-term prospects.

Moret's shower shoe has to be one of the all time great Ranger fan handles. Only the old timers would understand it. Sure wish Joey would come back, but understand he's gotta make a living like the rest of us.

Hindman and Matches have both hinted recently via Twitter that they will be coming back soon. I'm not worried about it.

Even if they only write a couple articles a week during the season, it's still the best insight on any Rangers' site.
