I'm pretty much out on all the of the local sports talk so I say meh.

FWIW just saw Ben & Skin are off ESPN due to contract dispute. So long. I liked Ben & Skin as counterpoint to Norm and for their frequent interviews with JD and the likes of.

Local ESPN now is Cowherd mornings , then Ian Fitzsimmons show 11-3 at least temporary deal. ESPN has enough reporters to fill in. I like McMahon, he has the A.J.-like bulldog mentality.

Your faithful reporter, Wonderone.

Whoa bigger shakeup at espn 103.3 than I thought:

9-11 a.m. Cowherd
11-3: Fitzsimmons and Durrett
3-6: Galloway
6-(7 ??) Cooperstein (Nate Newton was let go too)

And Barry Horn asks "where's Greggo?" on The Fan:

Ben Rogers tweeted yesterday: "In case you missed it we declined a final offer from ESPN on a new deal. We're parting ways w/ them for now. Future is unwritten. Stay tuned."

Who cares?

Can't anyone find something worthwhile to post on this forsaken site?

February 26, 2013 at 3:02 PM | Unregistered CommenterNot that Eric

Declining a final offer is the save face way of saying they got let go. Let's see, no raise or......no job. Hmm....

February 26, 2013 at 3:19 PM | Unregistered Commenterjumangi

what this really means is that the P1 on The Ticket is very loyal.

February 26, 2013 at 6:36 PM | Unregistered Commenterswitch_hitting_witch

Too bad, they kept close tabs on the Rangers. Good sources with good report on players.

Good luck Not.....with your....bottom.

February 26, 2013 at 7:44 PM | Unregistered Commentershoeswithlivegoldfish

P1's loyal? What it means is that P1's love the juvenile comedy of a faux sports station.
Then come in here & every other bit is gay or inane. Mmmm, gotta love those daily fart jokes.
Wow, the ticket- It's so 90's, duuude... rad!

February 26, 2013 at 8:46 PM | Unregistered CommenterP2

No one gets let go if they produce ratings. Ratings are the WAR of radio. In the 70's-80's Ron Chapman was the radio savant personality on KVIL. Often made fun of. I learned from a radio program manager that that there was not 1 station that wouldn't have changed their format to have Chapman. It's because of his loyal listeners, faux or not, they sure seemed to get copied a lot.
rad? that's so early 80's dude.

February 26, 2013 at 9:36 PM | Unregistered Commenterswitch_hitting_witch

Ratings are what they are. The ticket caters to inane intelligence and most left are in here, as U.
KVIL was fluff music & yap radio, which was/is pretty much Dallas. Oh how I miss Karen Carpenter.
NOT
The lil' t is fluff sports. It works for the brainless... but Norm is a pro, so not all is lost in fluffy sportsland.

If you're listening to the radio for real sports info, you're probably an idiot. At least the Ticket is funny, I could care less if they talk sports, in fact I rather the did not.

Oh, I see where you're coming from. The Nerd... Funny guy you are.
You're that Dad teaching his son to pitch baseball on the VW tv commercial.
Kudos! That's the best commercial on the tube. I love nerd comedy too.
The lil' ticket is the best at it. He's black...belch...fart...he's gay...terrific stuff!
Wish I was 14-18 again. Then I could be on here alllllll day like the NTE kid.

Really too bad one of my fav sites has gone to hell in a handbasket. I miss you BBTIA!

I do find the folks that rail on The Ticket because it's juvenile funny. They are so above bathroom humor. Give me a break.

I'm 16, bulletproof and Teflon coated. I LOVE The Ticket. Not much sports, but who cares it's funny!
I don't even care if they talk sports. Hey old dude, pull my finger! faaaaaaaaaaaaaaart. Now that's fun.
Wish I had confidence to even talk to a girl. Oh, I can find a life later. No prob, geekout troll'n is dope.

Ben & Skin are pros, and the Rangers who go on seem to enjoy them quite a bit. With ESPN shifting to Buster Onley on the podcast (rather than Eric Karabell and Keith Law), I was looking forward to semi-regular Keith Law visits. Because Law is high on the Rangers. So that's disappointing.

I now see that Richard Durrett has a show with a guy named Fitzsimmons. Totally underwhelming.

February 28, 2013 at 12:53 AM | Unregistered Commentereric reining

Fitzsimmions is Ian from Galloway and Co. So Galloway and Co consists of two people now, Matt Mosley and Randy.

I am really bummed that ESPN and Ben/Skin could not reach an agreement they all felt was fair and I do not fault Ben and Skin for declining the final offer. I love their show and I will listen to them where ever they land as long as I can stream them from Washington State over the net.
