why does everyone assume that when coby lewis is back in may(which isnt a guarentee) that he wont be rusty and that his arm will hold out after the surgery hes just had(I havent seen much on how someone recovers from the surgery he has had but tommy john which people seem to think is atleast similar has its recoverys atleast rusty and questionably effective) imo at his salary(2 mil which is nothing in baseball money) we should assume nothing/were not going to get much from colby(btw I dont hate colby I do think hes slightly overrated in this area but i like him nontheless)

I don't think anyone's assuming he's going to be declared healthy and then he's pitching the next game (for the Rangers)... or at least I haven't read where anyone's made that assumption.
When he's healthy, he will probably pitch in AA for a month... with a couple 2 inning starts followed dy a could 4 inning starts, etc... until he's declared healthy and the rust is knocked off.
If all goes well, he will be part of the rotation right around the ASB and ready for the stretch run. Anyone's foolish to think otherwise.

BTW - I agree with you... I think he's overrated too.

I guess the same could be said of Soria and Feliz too. Not just Lewis. No guarantees. Lewis is an innings eater during the season and nuts up come playoff time.

Colby Lewis has been a good #3, maybe a borderline #2. Who knows what he is going to do when he comes back, but its not a bad bet to be better then who ever is our 5th starter at the point that he comes back.

As long as he can eat some innings he will be a valuable rotation piece during summers dog days.

Lewis might not even get his job back. He is a #4 on a goodstaff-#3 on a poor staff. His succes or lack thereof this year has LITTLE to do with the Rangers success.
