If Brinson is anything near where he's supposed to be, he would be a bad PTBNL. Until they have a better idea of how he'll do (when he can be assigned actual prospect rankings), I'm pretty sure they wouldn't trade him. Ditto Gallo.

Yeah, Gallo/Brinson/Alfaro/Mazara/Guzman/Beras should all be pretty hands-off to other organizations. I think the Rangers are convinced at least two of them become bonafide superstars. Based on the high-risk, high-reward mentality this front office has assumed with its farm system, I don't find that to be too farfetched.
After Perez, Buckel and Grimm, the Rangers don't have very much pitching. They are incredibly strong at position prospects, and at the lower levels they are stocked with outfield talent. Luckily, our Major League starting rotation is basically set the next 4-5 years.
Some of our Minor League hitters might by us a TORP at some point in 2013.

Brinson, etc could always be a player named later. A Taveras trade would be contingent on Furcal being unable to play and the Cards viewing their other options at short as unlikely to take them to the playoffs for 2013, with Taveras having a decent 2013 but not spectacular like 2012. An at the moment trade in July, which the Rangers are familiar with, but from the other direction the last three seasons.
