ALSO, MLB Rumors is running a Poll on what club basically failed during the off season.
Rangers are leading by a good margin.
It also states may teams added a KEY pitcher or a slugger...
Many teams? Ughummm, but not the Rangers, even though it was thier FOCUS!

I can still remember watching the 2003 NLCS in college, convinced of how Mark Prior and Kerry Wood were going to dominate MLB for years to come. Such a shame what happened to them - though Wood was able to rebuild and make a very respectable career as a reliever.
That said, I think Prior was probably in the best shape of his life about 10-12 years ago, before his arm fell off. I still hope he can make a comeback, but I'm not optimistic. Particularly after seeing Brandon Webb call it a career recently and watching Scott Kazmir continue to struggle mightily.

This is not new, Prior felt that he was okay in 2010 when the Rangers signed him to a AAA contract and pitched but one inning. Having posted that, Prior is still young enough [32] to resurrect his MLB career. Sign him to a second AAA contract. Nothing to lose and a small chance of signing a pitcher who could resurrect his career, and have a #5 that has been a TORP. Hopefully he may eliminate the has been label at Round Rock, and he is back. Kazmir also would have been a good pick up, at least better than Nate Robertson. An old adage, you can never have enough pitching. You can fit Bedard, Jurrjens and Sanchez into that category as starting pitchers that JD should have gone past due diligence.
