Don't ever question Billy Beane. Didn't you see Moneyball? 60% of the time, that man wins every time.

Disappointment comes to mind, that Oakland won another trade. I covet Jed Lowrie, and think he would have been an excellent UTIL guy here. Mainly I'd want him to be a backup just so we wouldn't have to face him.
Oakland could be pretty strong on offense again in 2013.

Astros will trade what decent assets they have for value. Lowrie is decent utility guy who brought back 3 guys with potential upsides. A's may win it, but what the Astros need to do.

Bad trade for A's. Gave up a lot for a guy that's never played in 100 games and been average at best.

Getting sick of reading " not that eric " post's. I wish he would get plastered and go play in traffic on 35E then fall rectually on a Syphilis, Gonorrhea and Herpes tainted Rail Road Spike. Then get ass to mouth rescussitation from an HIV riddled Harry Heinze crack whore. Admittedly the recovery would be grueling but I think he can handle it. All Trolls should experience this at least once in their lifetime. Thank you and GO RANGERS!

OH and fire up them Snow Monkeys.
I propose trading " not that erica " for the " Fat Kid " from Center Field. He will lead us all to GLORY!!!! He's using all 5 tools and the 6th that eluded Face last season.

PEACE, HOPE Y'ALL WEREN'T OFFENDED.

So we're clear "y'all" doesn't include anyone who's name starts with "not"

You know, Not that Eric isn't such a bad guy. After being trolled several hundred times I would strongly implore all of you to do the same thing I do: sit back and cackle at his posts. When you don't take them like personal shots, they are actually quite hilarious.
I especially liked his WAR comment from a couple weeks ago when he said, "Whenever I see WAR printed out on paper I use it for asswipe. Same for won-loss projections."
That shit is undeniably funny.

Actually the A's have a very crowded outfield and this move free's up 1B for Moss..........

In a piece of AL West news, the A’s have traded Chris Carter, Brad Peacock (RHP, their #5 Prospect), and Max Stassi (C, #11) to the Astros for Jed Lowrie & Fernando Rodriguez
There isn’t a lot of star power in this deal so it won’t get much attention, but it makes me wonder; what were these two teams thinking? The A’s are pretty deep already in the infield with Hiroyuki Nakajima, Adam Rosales, Jemile Weeks, Josh Donaldson and Eric Sogard. Lowrie is an improvement over those guys perhaps, but how much of one?
Meanwhile they traded a 1B with big power potential and handed those duties back to Daric Barton who has been terrible the past two seasons.
On the flip side, the Astros acquire a 1B they don’t have a home for (Brett Wallace is there for now, and their #1 prospect Singleton is also projected to contribute to the big club this year), Peacock, and a catcher that is years away from contributing. I like this trade more from an Astros POV if you think Wallace & Barton see reps at DH, but I still don’t understand why these teams partnered up to trade from positions of weakness to positions of strength (read: depth).
