I'm not up on my Japaneese players and I've never heard of this guy before BUT if he is as good as Yu than yep 50 million posting fee is money well spent.

It'll probably help having Darvish around, in that he can probably give the Rangers a pretty nice scouting report on whether or not he's worth an investment.

Unfortunately, it will probably be a few more years before the Eagles decide to even post him and by that point in time $50M would probably be a comparative drop in the bucket for a young, controllable pitchers.
Ideally, NPB and MLB will get together and rehash their current posting agreement to make it more equitable for all parties involved. Right now the only real winner is the posting team. You've also got to get over the cultural biases put on players that leave Japan to play for more money in the States. After all the rumors of Shohei Otani this offseason and teams swooning over him, he signed his life away to an NPB team because (according to some reports) he didn't want to bring shame on his family.

He looks like a Tommy John time bomb to my untrained eye, but those pitches move really nicely.

I would think if the eagles even think there's a whiff of rule changes then he'll get posted sooner than later and if he posts another good season like last year there's a chance they'll cash in while his value is high(IMO with another 1.27 era they could get a 60 mil posting fee especially if darvish has another good year and restores faith in jap imports)

Reports are he's the next japenese pitcher tx is scouting assuming he's posted at the end of the year( boy is 2 years younger than yu and posted an absurd 1.27 era in 200+ innings) would you want the rangers to drop another 50 mil + posting fee on a japanese pitcher?
