Back to baseball...I do not see any truth in the original post. Stanton is controllable for many years and the Marlins have quite a few prospects on the list that will be making their way on the roster very soon. Marlins will need Stanton at his salary.

Ozzie33... You are crazy. How dare you question the story. You should be ashamed of yourself for hating your country so much.

Now, back to baseball.

January 21, 2013 at 3:11 PM | Unregistered CommenterTheNatural

Lmao. Natural you need some help bro. Joey, Ben, and Jamey are not complicit in this dreamed up scam and wouldn't be raising money for it. They should bear your misplaced ire, not Eric for taking the time to debunk what I imagine is a joke of a documentary. And don't let your 9/11 hysteria bleed over into this massacre. Bad stuff happens, you should learn to accept it.

@The Natural...LOL....I get it.

But still, an off duty SWAT officer running away from being apprehended? WTF? Did he think the shooter was coming afar him? If so, he is trained SWAT that is armed, he should be helping. Why run?

I also question the school video camera system. I do not need to see the carnage, but the film with the 20 year old boy entering the school and the weapons at his side. Typical footage we always see on a bank or 7-11 robbery or murder.

Now we can get back to baseball.

Sometimes these threads are entertaining. This on, not so much.

But yes post a link to a rumor like this that is coming from a known source or don't post

BTW I'm not a troll, I'm an orc!

January 21, 2013 at 4:12 PM | Unregistered CommenterCosmo

A known source like NBC, ABC, BBC, ESPN, etc?

Ask yourself why they are reputable sources. Because they say they are? Or because a bunch of people believe what they say...

January 21, 2013 at 4:26 PM | Unregistered CommenterTheNatural

What the hell is happening in this thread?

The Marlins are a shambles. The odds of them contending in the next couple years are greater only than those of the Astros. Several years of Stanton are going to waste. The Marlins could expedite their likelihood of contending by trading Stanton ASAP (the sooner he's traded the more they could get for him) but they won't because they're dumb.

January 21, 2013 at 4:37 PM | Unregistered CommenterAndy

You take Stanton over Upton any day of the week. Upton is good, but has not proven to be great like Stanton. U hope Upton gets there , but Stanton is already there. Anyone that wants Upton over Stanton is in the nut case category!

January 21, 2013 at 5:14 PM | Unregistered CommenterGump

Stanton needs to be traded and likely landing place is Tampa Bay. The Rays have Myers and top pitching to offer. A workable trade could be Stanton for Myers, Archer and Moore, though the Rays maybe hesitant to offer so much; so a Myers,Moore, and a pitching prospect like Colome or Romero or Archer instead of Moore and both prospects could be a better fit

I guess the better question is whether the Rangers farm can take a hit like Atlanta did in the Tex trade. How long did it take for Atlanta to recover? Is the Rangers farm in the same shape as Atlanta's? I would think so. My only worry is the hammies on Cruz and Beltre, Olt can play both positions. Who do we have as a fill in at 3rd if Beltre goes down? Ian? Then profar to 2nd? I know we have plenty of corner OFers.

January 21, 2013 at 6:31 PM | Unregistered Commenterozzie33

Natural, I know you're on a little crusade here, but don't attack me for giving the opposite side of the story. These "Sandy Hook Truthers" seem to be distorting reality quite a bit. Also, consider that I'm one of the minority on BBTiA perpetually saying "Don't believe what the media tells you," and have always had a fascination trying to uncover conspiracy theories.

I was convinced the illuminati was behind a massive bombing at the 2012 London Olympics, blamed on Middle Eastern radicals, to help facilitate an attack on Iran, starting World War III. It didn't happen.

Like I said, I've seen the video with my own eyes, and in a lot of ways I think I was going into in wanting to believe there was some sketchy business happening. That's just the way I am, I guess. But why should I believe the words of a YouTube filmmaker (who can't spell, can't produce proper sentence structure) over what I believe to be true? I'm an objectivist. I take all sides into account before I draw conclusions.

To take it a step further, you're asking me not to believe the "mainstream media." Okay. But I don't even watch the news! The news is all about ratings. All about fear mongering. From CBS to NBC to ABC to Fox. They are all about riling up the masses so they'll want to keep coming back. Unless the Rangers, Chiefs, Duke basketball players or Virginia Tech football players are playing, I'm not even watching TV. (Okay, sometimes I watch Pawn Stars or Engineering An Empire on the History Channel.)

What it really comes down to is some guy who's too afraid to show his name, who has no credibility whatsoever, making a conspiracy theory video on YouTube. A day or two after the purported tragedy, there were tons of other videos like that. Everyone loves a good conspiracy. I don't think you can refute my final comment about how in the world you can get the government, police and fire departments, hospitals, and hundreds of locals to all commit to this without one chink in the armor. It's hard for even two people to keep a secret. Usually one of them has to die.

Plus, you know, most obviously, neither you nor I were there, so were don't know. Just don't play the sanctimonious card on me like you are the only one around here who knows what they're talking about.

@eric.....answer my baseball questions please, I like your opinions.

January 21, 2013 at 7:53 PM | Unregistered Commenterozzie33

Ozzie, I'm not eric, or not that Eric for that matter, but I'll cast my opinion for the sake of getting this baseball site back to talking baseball:

Yes, the Rangers farm could most definately survive giving up a prospect haul like we received for Teixiera. If you remember, that deal sent several very high ceiling, but very young players. The kind of players our organization targets in drafts and international signings. We've got plenty and wouldn't leave our cupboard bare by parting with a few. What we are lacking are surplus prospects at the top of our system (assuming Perez, Martin and Olt are not being traded)

January 21, 2013 at 8:06 PM | Unregistered CommenterThe_Henchmen

Eric it's fairly easy to get them to commit to the story when they are the only actors involved. It's a closed system.

I'm not going to get into a war of name calling and bashing to prove a point. I've only asked questions, many more than you have. I have received only a response of it couldn't have happened because too many people would have had to buy into the cover up.

Regardless of this crusade, my purpose was to wake anyone up to this, and at the very least think really hard before you donate money to them.

January 21, 2013 at 8:06 PM | Unregistered CommenterTheNatural

@The_Henchmen - The names you mention, Olt, Matin and Perez are the names that seem to always pop up on this sight when speaking Upton. I think if we part with Olt, our 3rd base is bare unless Kinsler takes that spot and Profar to second. With the Tex trade, 1 name, Salt was the major name in the trade at the time. In hindsight, it was Elvis, Feliz and Harry that made the trade work. The lesser known guys that took 2 -3 years to pan out. In all trade talks I see, we are giving up our top tier players, Profar, Grimm, Martin for a trade. Should we not be giving up the lower tier players with a high upside? Buckle, Odor, Sardinas, etc? A package of 5 of these guys would not hurt the Bigs and younger guys can take their place with good drafting and saving your draft pics and not buying into free agency.

January 21, 2013 at 8:41 PM | Unregistered Commenterozzie33

So no one busts my balls on leaving 3rd base open in my post above, you have to read my earlier post when I mention Beltre is a hamstring from the DLl list every year and this year he is a year older. Keeping in mind the Rangers will be a younger team, Beltre will be called upon to run a lot more base pads.

I love a good conspiracy, but the Sandy Hook one?

If I understand it, the theory is that Ms Parker was said to be killed, yet was (supposedly) in a photo-op after the tragedy with Obama. And that "mistake" proves that no mass murder ever happened, and Sandy Hook was simply a created story to further gun control. Correct?

So here's what no one can explain. If Emilie was still alive afterward, then what happened to her? There is no plausible explanation being offered. Her parents are around. They know their kids and how they look in pictures. The same applies to all the other parents and relatives - if the tragedy didn't actually happen, then do we have 20 families faking their own kids deaths? It makes no sense.

And the "evidence" such as it is, is so stunningly weak. I know that many would love to catch Obama and his goons doing evil, but this photo is more contrivance than evidence. The photo can be very rationally explained by the sometimes eerie facial similarity between siblings. Unless there's a ton more than a weak photo theory and assumptions of conspiracy theorists based on an expectation of evil intent, Occam's razor makes this one easy to dismiss.

I'm embarrassed by you conspiracy idiots.

January 21, 2013 at 9:05 PM | Unregistered CommenterBobby V

Remember that one time numerous memorial pages an facebook were created before the Sandy Hook shootings? Even the Parker Fund is guilty. It's all fishy as f*ck.

January 21, 2013 at 9:56 PM | Unregistered CommenterP1 Stefen

Exactly how do you know her parents are still around? Because they tell you they are?

David, there is a lot more than just a photo and some expectations of evil intent. We will never see the absolute smoking gun rock hard proof of the conspiracy. Just like we won't ever see it for Pearl Harbor, JFK, Contra, 9-11, etc...

People who question the story; and keep in mind that I said question the story, are pronounced idiots, nuts, anti-American, and various other unflattering titles. Why is that? Because we assume that the people who are charged with protecting and defending the freedoms and values this country was founded on (and no Im not referencing soldiers, police, firefighters, etc... This is about the policy makers) just might actually be human beings: People who can be swayed by material, power, wealth, or even maybe something higher and more complex than that.

Believe what you want, but for your own sake, at least open your mind.
