This is dumb. If you think a team of medical professionals hasn't already evaluated and make recommendations to Nap, you are out of your mind.
1. Surgery doesn't solve everything.
2. What makes you think this hip thing is degenerative?
3. Even if he isn't healthy, Nap is in line to make AT LEAST $9M this season. If he takes 2013 off and comes back as an unproven 32 year old after surgery, how much money do you think he can earn before his career fizzles?

It seems like maybe Napoli should have surgery, get the hip in tip top shape, take the year off, and then sign a one year deal for 2014 in which he can prove himself for a multi-year deal in 2015. 2015 would be his age 34 season. If he proves himself in 2014 and is healthy he could likely get a three year deal on a very decent amount.
Or he could just go see this doctor and he might be able to help him without surgery. He specializes in degenerative hip conditions that no one actually seems to know are most often caused by postural problems, which he can treat on the cutting edge of orthopedic medicine. But that would be way too smart and obvious of a thing to do, and everyone has to pretend that they are idiots completely controlled by the orthopedic surgeon establishment. Can't step out of the little boxes that the powers that be draw around you, that would be way to obviously fucking good and completely without any downside even if said doctor is completely full of shit which he isn't.
