Judge:

Here's an idea--HAVE AN IDEA!

That is not my calling. My calling is to Judge. Hence my calling card: The Judge.

Heh! If you'd just skip past anything NtE posts, he'd eventually just go away.

Don't respond... when you do, you're doing it a favor.

The Rangers should forget Upton and concentrate on trading for MICHEAL MORSE! Morse's power is to right center, he is taylor made for the ballpark. He is controlable, he can play outfield or platoon at first. He provides insurance for Cruz leaving next year. Besides he is a beast! MORSE!, MORSE!, MORSE!, MORSE!, MORSE!, MORSE!, MORSE!

Michael Morse is controllable for one year, same as Nelson Cruz.

Upton will either fall our way on Daniels terms or not. JD probably has his eyes set and prospects ready
for the Stanton and/or D.Price deal, when the reality of true talks raise thier heads. If we have Upton by then
it would be the "great wait-out haul". Stand pat, JD. Two of three, maybe?

??? Why was this thread bumped, Hubz?

January 17, 2013 at 12:12 AM | Unregistered CommenterTxball

@TxB
Sorry, I'm confused to what you are asking?

January 17, 2013 at 8:25 PM | Unregistered CommenterHubz

What he is saying is that all the experts and brains posting on this site have discussed the subject thoroughly, solved all the issues and there was really no need for further comment. (even though I agree with you) The last post before yours was on the 12th and when you posted, it "bumped" the dead already solved thread back to the top.

If the Snakes want that much for Upton then the rangers need to talk to Miami about Stanton instead.

Upton is not worth giving up the entire farm system for Stanton is

Funny, no what I meant was why bump a thread with what seems to be mainly trolling in the latter portion of this thread when your appropriate statement would have been better served with a new thread?

January 17, 2013 at 11:38 PM | Unregistered CommenterTxball

You got that right!

January 18, 2013 at 9:05 AM | Unregistered Commenterlwayne

For what it's worth, ESPN's Jim Bowden said yesterday on The Ben & Skin Show that he believes an Olt-centric package will bring the Rangers Justin Upton by Opening Day. Say what you will about some of his ridiculous trade proposals, but he does seem like a pretty well-connected guy when it comes to speaking to front office personnel.

If we could land Upton with only having to give up Olt/Perez + Buckel (perhaps), then we would definitely be in business.

According to Evan Grant, the diamondbacks wanted (or want), Olt, Luis Sardinas, and either Perez or Buckel. Apparently, the Rangers don't want to include Sardinas and prefer to include Leury Garcia. Grant didn't seem all that sure about the pitchers: who of the two is offered and preferred...

January 18, 2013 at 3:24 PM | Unregistered CommenterMM

If it was Buckel, give them Sardinas. If it's Garcia, give them Garcia. That's a hell of a package either way.

January 18, 2013 at 3:31 PM | Unregistered CommenterTommy Pickles

* If it's Garcia, give them Perez

January 18, 2013 at 3:31 PM | Unregistered CommenterTommy Pickles

How about giving them Porcello with Olt, and going with an outfield of Taveras / Martin / Upton after a few other moves.

January 18, 2013 at 6:32 PM | Unregistered Commenterles

How about we don't trash our farm system for someone prone to outbursts and trash talk, who sulks a lot. Anybody like the idea? He would be poison...why do you think he's been shopped for two years? He's not well liked in the clubhouse.

January 18, 2013 at 7:17 PM | Unregistered CommenterProcurion

Procurion,

What the heck are you talking about!? I have never seen a single reference to him trash-talking other players, outbursts, or anything of the sort. Nor have I ever seen anything written about him not being well-liked in the clubhouse. He's a normal 24-year old kid who seems pretty well-liked by everyone except Kevin Towers and the owner.

January 18, 2013 at 7:28 PM | Unregistered Commentergnats

Who knows what Towers is thinking...

He just traded Trevor Bauer who has the potential to be a generational pitcher for a mid level shortstop prospect....

January 18, 2013 at 8:39 PM | Unregistered CommenterMM

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> He just traded Trevor Bauer who has the potential to be a generational pitcher for a mid level shortstop prospect....

What people forget is many legends were one looked upon as mid level prospects or/and not everyday players. These players get tagged early on and more often than not either fail to measure up or over achieve the tag. Too often they are played and used by their **tag** rather than getting the shot someone with a better tag might get.
