Around the 4:30 mark of this ESPN interview, Curt Schilling identifies Rick Helling as the most vocal proponents of doing something about PEDs in the 1990s. I always liked Helling as a guy who pushed his limited ability as far as he could and I'm happy to hear that he brought that same fighter attitude to his role as a player rep.
Hopefully, the baseball community will do more to honor his behind-the-scenes trail blazing.
