That, in my humble opinion, is too much to give up for Upton.
Andy
Andy I disagree. I'd do that deal. Two non-ace prospects and a surplus 3B for a 25 y/o potential superstar?
However I feel like they're saving all their bullets for when Stanton becomes really available.

Two non-ace prospects, a surplus 3B (who is still very highly valued), a couple of 2nd or 3rd tier prospects, plus the roughly $40m owed to Upton? A bit much as far as I'm concerned.
As he comes with a $40m tab, I might offer Olt and Buckel and a 2nd tier. Maybe Perez instead of one of them. That trio of players has the potential (far from certain, of course) to provide more than $50m in surplus value. (Obviously it will likely be less.) Upton probably won't provide more than about $20m of value beyond his $40m bill.
I want Upton, but don't want to overpay that much. But maybe the market demands it, if the trades for Dickey and Shields are any indication.
Andy
I'm in agreement with Andy. As much as Upton can be/is a fine player, I don't think he's
a "build around" type player. He's not going to be the "big guy" that carries a team, though
his history shows he has some ability to do so. That being said, I'd love to have him, but KT
is over valueing Uptons value, total input and footprint. We need an Ace. Wait til All Star break.

Would Olt, Buckel, Perez and a couple of second to third tier prospects fetch Upton?
If no, what more would it take assuming Profar is off limits?
If yes, would you do it?
If yes, it would fetch him, and no, you wouldn't do it, what lesser package might you offer to fetch Upton?
Personally:
Yes, the above package would fetch Upton and if not he is WAY to pricey to even dream about.
Would I do it? It would be very hard to stomach, but I am not firm either way.
