Forum > Welke, Profar and Price
I think most people would be ok with swapping Profar for Price. Price is one of the few legit ACES out there and he would look good paired up with Darvish.

Only if we add a big MOTB as well. Otherwise we could be wasting Profar and lose Elvis to free agency in a couple years. I would think a deal centered around Elvis would be Moore likely.
See what I did there?

Can Ian still play SS? If so, Leury is only a year or two (Elvis' Ranger lifetime per those who fear Boras) and should be ready by the time Elvis moves on (if he moves on...). Slide Ian to SS and drop Garcia in at 2B and, voila!
Oh... dang... the world wouldn't end and we'd still have a MIF... lol
It's all good. SOMEbody will play the position. ANYbody would like to play the position. But, NObody thinks ANYbody is good enough unless he's been touted by the almighty Sports Media Heads. EVERYbody is in a tizzy because ANYbody might not be available unless SOMEbody begats SOMEbody in a massive trade that gives all the SMH's a lot of material to put in their rags.
I think we'll be ok.

Didn't Kinsler transfer to a lesser college, because he lost his Az State 2B job(not SS) to Padroia?
What's all this SS stuff? How is Kinsler going to be an adequte OF'r, with a bumb ankle? HELLO!

Were any of you guys / gals at the Newberg fund-raiser this week? I saw a few cryptic but interesting Tweets during the event, quoting Don Welke as saying things like, "If we trade Profar, it would only be for a big PRICE," and, "Everyone - even Profar - has a PRICE," and one or two others I can't remember.
Was Welke just being a troll, or are we to conclude that the Rangers are actually working on that exchange? And if they are, is that a trade you think they should make?
