A fair assessment of the Angels' offseason, I think. I'm not sure I agree with the author that the Angels are still the third best team in the division, but he does a good job of pointing out how a 100 win season is not a slam dunk for them.

I agree with you when you say they probably aren't the third best team in the division. I think a lot of people are casting Seattle aside. Now, I don't think they are in contention yet but they didn't exactly sit this offseason out. I can see Jason Bay's Comeback Player of the Year award now and Morales has good numbers in Safeco. Their young pitching may struggle but they definitely have a solid chance of winning more games than they did last year. Maybe even taking some away from Tex/LAA/OAK.
