AJP was here sitting before our GM staff yesterday, 12/18. IF WE were "really interested" in
signing, why didn't we offer contract? Here it is AJ, take it or leave it. Sign before you hit the door.
There's gotta be another angle to this. Not seeing much better choices, considering his LH power.
What are we missing here? Who's that stealthy Ranger catcher waiting in the shadows to sign?

I don't know if you've noticed, but it doesn't seem to me like the Rangers have had a lot of "Hi, nice to meet you, here's our offer, you have 5 minutes to decide, kthxbye" meetings, like the Angels may have had with Josh. I don't expect this is the last we've heard of A.J.

Also, ironing out a contract takes a lot longer than many people think. If they did agree in principle only last night, I'd be a bit surprised if they'd announced the signing already.

it worked for Josh. That was a Boom Bang sign here scenario. I'm not saying it did not happen,
but I suppose we'll know in the next 24Hrs? If not, then I'd assume, just another meh meeting.

ChSox have made "slight overtures of a 2yr-same money. One can find that info, with a call to
AJP agent. A "face meeting" is to wrap up or continue a stronger approach to an upfront sign.
Flowers is going to be Csox lead catcher. AJP won't take second fiddle. Again, where's our focus?

@Andy
That's not intirely correct Andy. If both parties agree, then it IS announced almost immediately,
so the Org holds the fire to the Players feet, in lue of a sudden back out, ie cold feet. Working out
the edges from there, are simple legalities of "I's & T's". It's the established norm of doing so. Angels
put it out ASAP, in case Josh & Katie got too frick'n anal about it. Smart move by LAA. Done Deal.
No player wants to look foolish, whispy or your given adjective, in the Press. When it comes from the
GM's OFFICE, it's Done.

Look at his numbers away from US Cellular the last three years. Guy was a below league average hitter for 8 straight seasons before last year then he blows up for a 118 OPS+, Do we really want him?

Seems like a US Cellular creation.
