Without Michael Young here, who do you goons plan to blame whenever things don't go our way? Maybe Kinsler? He has terrible body language, and pops up too much. What about Murphy? He never shows any leadership he just shows up and doesn't say anything? I think we should blame fat kid. I bet it is hard to hit when all you can see is fat kid dancing on Greene's Hill.

I disagree. I think Kinsler has the best body language ever.

I think we can still blame Young, even if he's not here.

Goons is a very underrated put-down.

Is Elvis still going to be sac bunting in the 1st inning?

I think I can agree with Hambone we goons should pick on the fat kid! We did it in school why stop now??

It's gotta be the "BOOMSTICK"

It gets unveiled in 2012 the rangers miss their first WS in 3 years. Gotta be the "BOOMSTICK"

December 18, 2012 at 2:32 PM | Unregistered Commentergtownfan

You're onto something gtownfan.. after the boomstick was introduced the Rangers were winning games at a torrid pace in April.. What was that other thing that they introduced? The great Hambino? That led to the demise.

December 18, 2012 at 2:45 PM | Unregistered CommenterHambone33

The fat kid is a pretty good fielder; can't blame him. Hambone, you are a goon among us, who do you suggest? I agree with Andy that MY is a good candidate. Last season he did plenty of bad to carryover into 2013 blame territory, though the Philly fans may want to monopolize him for their own blaming needs.

Wild Card answer.. Mark Cuban.. If he wins the bidding for the Rangers a couple years ago we have Cliff Lee Josh Hamilton Elvis signed to a 10 yr. 160 million dollar contract, Michael Young as manager, Ron Washington as a Mavs fanatic, and since Napoli is a Heat fan we never trade for him, but we keep Frank Francisco, who throws more chairs into the stands at Oakland, but this time he misses and it ricochets off a seat to bounce back to the A's bullpen and take out their whole staff. Rangers are division champs, and Pujols is the World Series MVP. Oh yeah, We signed Pujols too.

We blame Hambone33

December 18, 2012 at 3:59 PM | Unregistered CommenterBored@work

Blame it on the ghosts of DH past:
David Segui
Andres Galarraga
Carl Everett
Mike Lamb
Brad Fullmer
Herbert Perry
Phil Nevin
Chad Allen
Jason Botts
Sammy Sosa
Frank Catalanotto
Andruw Jones
Michael Young

There. That should do it.

Why do we not hear more "Cruz as DH"? Allowing him to focus on hitting might extract the most value out of him. I think in 2012 he was serviceable as a hitter but much of that value was cancelled out by his bad defensive range. Gotta love that cannon of an arm though...

December 18, 2012 at 4:46 PM | Unregistered CommenterJeterdawg

I think we would if there was more talk about who might feasibly play RF in a near-full-time capacity. Swisher and Upton are obvious choices, but most people think the Upton ship has sailed and Swisher has only been linked to us via fringe mentioning. Right now, as much as I would like either of those 2, the most likely course of action is to have Cruz playing RF a lot next year.

December 18, 2012 at 4:58 PM | Unregistered CommenterAndy

Oh.. I am the problem.. my fault. Sorry about last year guys.

December 18, 2012 at 5:51 PM | Unregistered CommenterHambone33

Well, if Kinsler moves to !B, we have several choices, top to bottom.

December 18, 2012 at 6:15 PM | Unregistered CommenterPT

We gotta ride Cruz and hope for some big production this season. If he under performs then it could be a long summer.

December 18, 2012 at 6:15 PM | Unregistered Commenterslider

Gotta disagree with you on the fat kid too, there were times when he was our best defensive outfielder.

December 18, 2012 at 7:58 PM | Unregistered Commenterdavid

@Jim ...I think Andy was tongue in cheek

December 18, 2012 at 10:06 PM | Unregistered Commenterozzie33

Not sure, but according to some of you idiots whoever it is it's certain to be because they're not white.

December 18, 2012 at 10:12 PM | Unregistered CommenterRomeo212000

OP is still mad the Rangers traded his favorite negative WAR player.

December 19, 2012 at 12:27 AM | Unregistered CommenterJondar

Anybody thought of, maybe... Cruz at 1B? If Carlos Lee can play the position, Cruz is at least as athletic and probably way more so.

We supposedly have the best infield position coach in all of baseball as our manager... ?

December 19, 2012 at 9:56 AM | Unregistered CommenterDavid Draggle

CRUZ? He'll have some range. Goes up on bunts? No problem, "but going back" to bag? Umm, he loses field scope.
My gawd, if Cruz ever chased a pop up *going back, he'd find the peanut barker in *left field stands!
Murphy is a natural Better choice to convert.

Eli Whiteside. No doubt it will all come down to him.
