Forum > Cruz, Nathan, and the Trade Deadline

If the Rangers are sellers at the trade deadline, any thoughts on what we could get for Cruz and Nathan. I'm concerned that if the Rangers are on the wildcard bubble, there will be PR pressure not to move Cruz and Nathan. If the Rangers keep those 2 and don't make the wildcard or lose the wildcard game, then they've missed a big opportunity to bring new talent into the organization.

Can we finish the offseason before we have our losing season and start dumpping players at the dead line? We have no ideal what the line up is going to be to start the season yet why are you already dumping payroll???

I don't see either player here in 2014 (saving a hefty little sum), so if we're out of the playoff hunt at the deadline, yes, we should entertain trading those guys.

We should have the same approach as the Phillies had last year...they were out of it...and dumped some aging contracts for young talent. With some of our expiring veterans...we can get a hold of some serious major league ready prospects...especially if they have rebound years (Cruz)

Win Lose or Draw this season I don't see Cruz and Nathan back in 14. Soria is already in place to take over the closer if Scheppers is not ready or if Feliz is in the rotation. Who plays RF is anyone's guess.

I feel Cruz will be a monster this year in his walk year. I suspect the Rangers offense will be quite good as result of his and Kinsler's rebounding years.

Why wouldn't Nathan be back in 2014? We have an option and, if he pitches well, it's not at a bad price...
