Forum > Your 2013 Texas Rangers Lineup is......NOW CLEAR
Andy, I agree Pro Baseball is 'What have you done lately', and all three main players mentioned were not outstanding successes the second half of 2012, including Hamilton. Recall not long ago the Rangers were willing to trade top prospectS for Liriano or that matter Kazmir, both now rock bottom pickups, and may even the two best free agent pitchers available to roll-the-dice on. In past years, an Ace as much as Grienke is looked upon today, both lefties are even roughly the same age, and with Kazmir's fastball returning with hopefully his devastating slider, which had abandoned him, and with Maddoxs influences could allow Liriano harness his command and control, they are who the Rangers should focus on. Longshots, yes, but that is what looking for a 4th and 5th starter are down to, which then helps the bullpen by allowing Ogando to cover the 8th, and Perez and Ross to ojt. There is one major factor, more true about Pro Football, then Baseball, but none the less instrumental to success, continuity and when a team loses a third of their core staff that is hard to immediately maintain.

Ha! that's just too pragmatic. It does fit JD's modus operandi. Not that we need arm depth or anything

I vote that JD goes and spends the money to get Loshe. Then grabs either LaRoche or Swisher (not both) to get some more pop in the lineup. And go get Yorvit back behind the plate
You end up with a solid lineup with some pop and some youthful upside along with veterans. And a solid 5 man rotation top to bottom with Lewis and Feliz expected back in the second half to help out and guys like Perez, Grimm, and Ross waiting in the wings.
