What's everyone thing about him as a 1 yr guy. Would take away from Moreland/Olt...but he's a proven bat and can play first/DH. He's still on market and could help a little especially if we are looking at trading Moreland/Olt to get somebody like Shields or Upton or Dickey.

I considered this as well, for a platoon situation. He still gets on base, but his power comes against rhp's.

If we get only one of Upton/Hamilton we are still going to need another bat. Youk could be good but I don't know if he would be interested in playing here. II'm not sure whether he would want to play here for less than what the Yanks are offering him.

Swisher is likely to put up 20-25 HRs and a wRC+ > 120, for 3-4 fWAR, from both sides of the plate, and playing decent defense at 1B and COF. What's not to like about that? I wouldn't give him Hamilton money, but I'd give him something decent (which he probably wouldn't take, holding out for more).

The media has gotten you guys to drink their Kool-Aid. Swisher would kill in Arlington, is a switch-hitter, and is versatile (whether it be RF/1B/DH). He's posted a wRC+ north of 124 in each of the last 4 years, and a wRC+ north of 100 every year but one in the Major Leagues. He would make an excellent #2 hitter behind Kinsler and in front of Justin Upton.
