but for real though..not taking into account money OR what it would take to acquire the players 2. That deals gives you an ACE and a possible MVP candidate both with several years of team control.

We already know Josh and all of his baggage, he's a HUGE draw in terms of attendance and merchandise, and he can play CF if we need him to. Upton has is own baggage, isn't nearly as big a draw, and probably can't play CF if Gentry/Martin fail.

If we had Josh, it would cost way to much to get Greinke. I'd rather have Shields because he's a gamer...he has some moxy and has been apart of a WS team before. Adding Shields wouldn't necessarily prevent us from making other moves...at least not like a Josh/Greinke deal would.

Hamilton plus Greinke makes the most sense to me because it retains all the young bargain talent intact. The rest of the options require trades, and who knows how much the team will have to give up to land any or all of those choices.

But I suspect Hamilton plus Greinke is not really feasible financially.

I even doubt it would happen, but your likely looking at Grienke/Upton or Shields/Hamilton. Of those two I'd prefer Shields/Hamilton.

Right now, Upton and Greinke. I don't think we can afford Hamilton and Greinke. Plus, Hamilton is 6 years older than Upton who is in the midst of a 6 year 50 million dollar contract through 2015.

Upton is signed through 2015 for roughly 9 million per and he's 25.

Not sure we can afford both Hamilton and Greinke anyway.

I just can't get past the thought that the Uptons are self-agrandizing, lazy and entitled spoiled brats.

And, I keep thinking Greinke might melt down due to "anxiety" issues already documented. And, he has Mitt Romney eyes...
