Assuming the Rangers do in fact keep Elvis and Profar, how the hell does this get done? I saw Kinsler's name being floated in this trade yesterday from some writers and possibly Holland.

One of the teams involved in the four-team Ariz-Cle deal is the Kansas City Royals. Not sure about the form yet.

Holland to KC? Wil Myers to TB? Shields to TEX? Well that would make 5 teams so maybe the Rays are just being cut out of this.

Yeah you're right Andy, I put this together on a whim. We could probably sub Gentry or L. Martin's name for Kinsler. My preference would be to include Gentry and keep Martin, then use Kinsler in a super IF/OF/DH Utility role. Ship Cruz and Young off for a bucket of balls and we would be pretty set, especially if the dream of Hamilton and Greinke materializes.

They could deal with the Rays separately.

@Andy If Olt is going to CLE and Elvis/Jurk are off the table I don't know how we could satisfy TB's demands and get Shields. Perez and Murphy probably won't do it... they just signed Loney so maybe they're not interested in Moreland (even though they should be because Loney is terrible)... Buckel? Garcia? Ogando? I just don't know.

The Rangers are talking to the Diamondbacks about OF Justin Upton. There could be a multiple team trade that includes the Indians. The Rangers would likely have to give up IF Mike Olt. Many teams are asking about Olt.

The Ranger are also still talking to the Mets about R.A. Dickey, who would love to come back to Texas.

The Rangers don’t think Tampa Bay is serious about trading James Shields, but would love to have him.

@Jondar if it is truly a 5 team deal we wont be the only team giving pieces to TB, most likely they will get a piece from another team which would make them happier. That's the beautyof multiple team trades when you get them worked out...everyone gets what they want.

Tampa just traded for Escobar. They don't need a SS. They probably want some combination of offense/salary relief/prospects.
