Forum > Hamilton deal?
Marktown, why do you insist on being such a hater?
I had this grinch-like smile on my face reading all the math you just put into that first paragraph. I fully admit, it was extremely impressive. I can only assume you have a little Macbook digital calculator or you stole one of your kids' electronic devices such that you could make the cheapest of points in attacking me. That's wonderful. This is me applauding your brilliant, albeit sophomoric effort in futility.
You are correct, I did say I watch a lot of baseball. I'm glad you pay attention to every single statement I make, even though you said "I'll go back to ignoring him." Good one. A thousand games multiplied by three hours would create 3,000 hours. Thank you for spelling that out to the esteemed BBTiA contingency. However, I did not say I watch one thousand major league games, and that I watch each pitch. It might be convenient for your elementary-level algebra, but it does not create the reality of the situation.
You see, in California, where I live -- now, I don't know if it's the same where you are, so I'm not trying to turn this into an altruism -- baseball is played year-round. There's Little League (generally from April-July), high school ball (typically from December through April) and "travel ball" (that's what they call it here), which literally runs from January through Decemeber, generally on the weekends. I'm not a father, so in my age-22 life I consider Little League to be pretty stupid. So we can throw that out. I do, however, get the opportunity to watch a lot of high school and travel games, and they do not last very long. I'm not such a math wizard like you, but that would take away from the 3 x 1,000 paradigm you posted, and add on to time away from my apartment. Blah blah blah, there just will never be any winning with you.
I don't proclaim to be any sort of know-it-all. Never have, never will. Maybe you think I'm right a lot of the time and wish you were the one to say it yourself; I don't know. I would doubt it, because you and I have diametrically opposing positions on where the Rangers stand. I don't put out the effort to say "In my opinion" or "No offense, but ..." or whatever, because this is the fucking Internet. It's implied that this is how we think. These are our opinions and our name is attached to what we say. Well, I mean, mine is. You are "Marktown". This is my birth name. My human name. I make no bones about who I am or what I'm saying. It's right in front of your fucking face to see for yourself.
Anyway, I could probably use some lessons in humility, but nature has brought me into the position I'm in right now, and this is who I am. I'm sorry it doesn't appease you to your liking. I'm not alive to be politically correct on a baseball website. I love reading what Joey has to say. I appreciate the knowledge I'm fed. I like to learn more.
Maybe you are unhappy with your own life, and I'm the easiest target on here. I get that. I know when I'm disappointed about being in the position I'm in, I look to attack what's around me. Maybe since you're not man enough to execute all the things you wish were different in your current reality, you choose to go after me on BBTiA because I said something directed at you once upon a time that you didn't agree with. I don't know. But you're there. And I'm right here.
So what's good?

Honestly, I could see Hamilton transitioning to 1B given 2 stipulations:
1) Texas re-signs him. (Not a given)
2) The hypothetical transition probably wouldn't happen until the back end of his contract - re: club/performance related option(s).
In conclusion, probably not gonna happen.
